I've a feeling CCP will never resort to armed conflicts when it comes to Taiwan

They have full of cards to play. Anything pertaining to criminal law because a lot of their members is going to be arrested. But I think they are abit too late.

I think Lai Qing De has shown that he is quite the hiongster, ie he has no qualms about using the state machinery like police and judiciary to fix his political opponents, more so than during Cai Ying Wen era.

They can fix anybody they want but they cannot fix CCP. Because they are military is no comparison.

Back then in the early to mid 1900s KMT is 1,000 time worst than William Lai and can kill people without batting an eyelid. It is estimated that they kill 10 million of their own people because of war time or CCP. Back then there is or internet or social media, now there is an every small issue got magnified 100x times. What William did is very small matter compared to what KMT did last time. I don't think there is any form of artificial death caused by the government now at most they lock people up. However I have to give KMT the credit for ending the Qing dynasty and fighting ww2 and modernizing Taiwan.
