SB16, 32, 64, 128...

After that no more bits to go liao, 256, 512, 1024?

RealTek media became a more common sound chip in onboard audio and better BUS designs no longer hog up the data transfers and allow audio to be good for onboard.

Just like 5090, with that much high powered details, who pays attention actually? Same goes for audio, unless you're listening to concert etc... which no audiophile will use a SB card... who'd buy le...?
SB16 sound better than SB becos finally got stereo and also because of the option to add Waveblaster - which if u were gaming during dat era u would be interested becos Roland had better MIDI music but with Waveblaster u can finally get closer to Roland music.

AWE32 was really pointless for most people who bought SB+WB combo because it was mostly juz those two cards mashed into one. After dat didn't bother to monitor liao because SB16+WB / AWE32 was oredi good enuff. How can Creative sell upgrades? Can't.

Could Creative have moved into Audiophile as it tried? Can't succeed. Too cheap and image was dat it was a cheapo brand. Ironically perception sells audiophile level kind of stuff.

Same reason why PC gaming ish stagnating at 1080p. 1440p, 4k ish hard sell when 1080 ish good enuff. GPU sellers trying hard to move units but Raytracing doesn't really add dat much to making a game fun to play. So Jensen Huang beri smart at first pivot to selling to crypto miners then pivot to selling to AI farms. See where he pivot next because nao dat Nvidia ish used to selling dat kind of volumes at dat kind of prices he has to keep pushing growth since it ish a publicly listed company.

Sent from my 4K tv that is running at 1080p that has been upscaled by 125%. Using dunno wat integrated sound chip on my laptop wif sound blasted out thru tv's built-in speakers. It's all about good enuff.

FYI Gigabyte used to partner with Creative for onboard sound for many generation till it was drop.
Realtek codec has catch up in recent years, newer codec with more stable and fuss free audio driver

Who will buy Creative soundcard? People will just go for DAC will have better sound quality than Creative sound card/DAC.
Surprising they are still alive despite their products are not very enticing.
