I think underlying problem with dating is a lack of transparency. Nobody dares to be honest. All either show their aspirations and ego rather than the relatively uglier truth and reality. Plus, most got no patience to wait for other to warm up and open up. I think people need to realise truth is very few of us will find a suitable partner. Maybe those that realise think the game is all about getting laid and then moving on like hit and run.

Yah every week at meetups I see some display same type of behaviour or technique, they are clearly trying to sound trendy with relevant topics that they think most ladies or mass market likes to hear, but anyone with real interest, or even more well rounded people, know from their content that they are not really into such things.

I also think Lau Pa Sat is a good place for food, but maybe on first date not so nice la later the girl scold cheapo, plus SG weather so hot. Usually will go for cafe or at least a decent restaurant in the mall, nothing too fancy

LPS is neither a good place for food nor dating. Most of the food there are expensive & mediocre. And obviously it's very hot and noisy. I used to work just 5 mins walk from LPS but I will rather go the arcade side for food.

Anyone who choose LPS for date is really the brain got somethk wrong

After hearing all the feedback from everyone and observing over the past 10years, I've concluded that the problem lies with the very expectation and definition of dating. I think we should wipe the word out from our heads altogether. Why cannot just make friends and have a meal with a friend first? Why so in a hurry to chase or be chased? Desperation? That is the problem.
