Jun spending given on 16th Jul, July spending given on 16th Aug. That is how it work.

Anyone knows if paying via NTUC Income Online payment portal for Personal Accident Insurance -- will award 10X points?

EXACTLY.

This the BEST way to carry out your spend with this card. Wait until statement date passes and then do the full $2k spend before the end of the calendar month.

This way (plus it's the ONLY way) you will always see full points awarded in each statement.

If your transaction is in SGD but the payment processor is overseas, you will get slap with a 0.8% fee.

Examples are topping up starhub prepaid and payment for hotelclub. Amount was in SGD but transaction had a GBP in the description.

That means gotten DCC I guess. Same for cheaptickets.sg, they billed in GBP. Expedia.com.sg is billed in SGD.

Oh crap, you're right, it's billed in SWE. I just re-checked (Getting a new pair of glasses later this year...). You will get 10x, no worries. I booked my flight via Expedia.com.sg cause it was abit cheaper than the official airline website (even after the extra charge).

Well no loss for me since the price was cheaper. But now we know...

Why would Starhub bill you overseas for prepaid? When you pay for Starhub TV online there is no surcharge.

Either way, this is another example of lack of regulatory oversight and quick acting on behalf of the financial regulators to stamp out such nonsense early.

I believe their payment processor is overseas. Thus they were using DCC so ensure the sgd amount matches. The amount is for Sgd but once DBS sees that that charge is coming from an overseas payment processer, they slap the charges on. I believe SCB does this too. No problems with OCBC though. I use to charge my hotelclub bookings to frank card and I am billed the exact amount as the invoice.

Below is from the terms n condition of DBS cards

If you have chosen to convert your card transaction into Singapore dollars via dynamic currency conversion (a service offered at selected overseas ATMs, merchants or websites), you acknowledge that the process of conversion and the exchange rates applied will be determined by the relevant ATM operator, merchant or dynamic currency conversion service provider, as the case may be.

Card transactions converted via dynamic currency conversion will be subject to an administrative fee of 0.8% by Visa or MasterCard respectively on the converted Singapore dollar amount, or such other rate as determined by us and notified to you.

NTUC Income insurance payments online --- does not give bonus points, CSO mentioned likely the portal will classify the transaction as bill payment -- not a retail spend...

I myself not yet try -- maybe should not try -- its a bill payment afterall...
