any difference if significant performance with the dedicated gfx card and 2gb ram as compared to the default?
Of course the dedicated graphics card will allow you to play more graphical intensive games, and the more RAM you have, the smoother your OS is, I'm now running my XPS M1210 with Windows Page File disabled. I never liked Windows Page File, so I try all means to disable it, and the best way, increase the base system memory.

My new 630m LCD seem to have a slightly dark patch on the bottom right corner and some bright patch on the top right.

Is that normal and acceptable?

I've been using laptop for 6 years now, all Dell laptops... I'm even under their "premium customer" statue I think cause...

I ordered my XPS M1210 on 13 Sep 06 during lunchtime, received the unit on 15 Sep 06 at 1121hrs...

Now that's what I call fast...

:D

Oh... But I see that the afterservice is bad? Though it's really cheap... and also... is it durable?

Afterservice is bad?

I buy Dell's laptop cause of its performance AND support.

I just called XPS Service cause my LCD has randomly flickered a couple of times and they are replacing my LCD tomorrow... Try that for Acer, HP etc etc or even IBM, they'll tell you to leave your laptop behind to test for a week...

I trust Dell's service and support because of the numerous desktop and laptop I've owned and deployed to my customers, so far, no complains and it never once cross my mind to purchase Acer, IBM, HP etc etc...

Too many of a time that many people had problem with their device and 95% of the time, the problem lies with the user not having proper and suffice knowledge of handling his/her device well, PEBKC is way too common, especially in Singapore...

That is called LCD bleeding, alot of times it will go off by itself after long usage, many called it curing stage to mature the LCD backlight...

My previous Dell Inspiron 9300 suffered from that, but after a month or so it went away by itself...

You can get rid of the following:

1. Microsoft Works 7.0

2. Antivirus and replace with AVG

3. Network Assistant

yeah i agree those who say dell service is bad must really be insane...

go read my earlier posts when they removed and changed my whole LCD panel when the XPS logo sticker came off .. haa haa.. and also the changed my Keyboard when one of the keys i didnt quite like the feel ..

all these jobs were done FOC and also within a couple of days of logging the case

Hi,

I'm also using M1210 with Geforce Go 7400. How is the performance of Company of Heroes on the laptop? Is it playable?

Anyone has the new DELL leather carrying case?

I choose 1 when I bought the M1210 and I think the shoulderpad of the carrying case is a defect! The shouldpad seems to be sewn on the wrong side. It causes some discomfort when carrying it on the right side.

Anything has the same impression?
