Does Core Duo or Core 2 Duo make a difference if we are just running 32-bit Vista. I mean basically both are dual core processors.

Is is advisable to disable Dell Network Assistant? This program has similar functionality with the Intel PRO connection wizard.

Core 2 Duo on average performs 5 - 15% better than their counterpart Core Duo. This is especially for the 2.0Ghz and above models which has 4mb cache.

Higher Mhz = Higher Bandwidth
But the drawback is higher latency.
I seen benchmarks on the memory. And the speed/performance follows an inverted U-shape, where the maximum is @ 533Hhz. A good balance of bandwidth and latency.

Upgrade Ram memory Dell Centrino

Hey there,

I have a Dell Centrino 510m notebook. Runs pretty good. But I only have 512mb Ram.

It seems to run a bit slow when i have multiple windows and programs on.

I rang up Dell helpdesk- but to deliver a 1g ram chip will cost S$370. And that doesn't include installation.

Where's a good workshop to upgrade my computer ram here in Singapore?

Is there PC 4300 ram or only PC4200 Ram?

My 640M came with Nanya Ram.... So it should be compatible...
CPU-Z program shows the ram max bandwidth as PC2-4300(266MHz)

I clicked onto the Kingston website- and it claimed I can boost my ram to 2 gig. Wow, talk about overkill.

Yet somehow I'm tempted to get two banks off the KTD-INSP5150/1G 1GB DDR333 Module.

Or should I just get 512mb x 2 of the DDR333 ?

I use my machine mainly for excel, word processing and firefox internet use. firefox is great but its a memory hog.
