Ok, noted with thanks Diavonex.:)

Test the Rescue CD and make sure you can "see" your external HDD.

If your hard disk crash, you don't have to install every thing from scratch.

Pop in the Rescue CD and you'll be able Restore your computer back to the date you make the Backup.

Ok, noted. One small question here, Diavonex. Once I have finished backup the entire C: onto my external HDD, how do I create a Rescue CD. Will Acronis automatically prompt me to insert a blank CD to do this after it finishes back-up onto the external HDD?

I wonder why optical mouse isn't very responsive with the XPS. Not sure if someone is experiencing the same thing? The cursor, sometimes, doesn't respond quickly to mouse. :(

the scroll pad is responsive though and because of that, I found that using a mouse is actually slower than a scrollpad. I couldn't say I expected that. :( Does that happen on laptops? I think it is not a mousey problem because I used two mouse with this lappie.

Hmm what kind of surface are you testing on? Tested the same mouse on another system?
I've used the logitech V450, A4Tech Glaser and Lapmate Optical no issues on my M1210

tabletop. :( i dialed into the xps line.. i adjusted the sensitivity of the mouse but it doesn't seem to go away. i made it more sensitive btw. any recommendations? it likes to stay near the edge of the screen,

one thing good about the xps is the dedicated phone service. :D

Thank you Diavonex...so step 1: choose backup, after backup done, step 2: choose create bootable rescue media. By the way, a blank cd should be sufficient for the rescue disc right, Diavonex? Sorry that I am not asking everything in one time coz jus thought of it...:o

A blank CD will do the job.

Later you may want to make a Rescue Thumbdrive (pse. take note that some thumbdrive are bootable while others are not)

targus optical mouse. doesn't have dedicated driver too. just plug and play. with a mouse pad, it is working fine, without, it is a big struggle. :( i thought optical mouse is not supposed to be affected by the surface. :(

im talking about mouse.. i can differentiate between mouse and touch pad loh. =p

oh, xps phoneline, go search ur box. it's there. go explore it. :p
