You're suppose to give the new battery a good 13 hour charge.

It's up to you whether to remove the battery later to preserve it. Personally I can't be bothered.
hmm... am I able to play around with the notebook while charging it for 13 hrs? I don't mean I'll play 13 hrs, but will it affect the charging while I'm using the notebook at the same time? :o

No no... it wise not to use lappy while charging. IF u JUST receive ur new lappy, take out the batt, use adapter power to check ur lappy condition & configuration. Aft tat turn it off then put batt to charge.

Protect ur investment. Lappy batt not cheap.

I started using the computer the moment I receive it. Did'nt turn OFF power until after 15 hours.

The battery still in good condition after a year.

Questions here!

How do you know whether your laptop is in standby, suspension or hibernation? How do you "wake" the laptop up at the various stages?

Is there anyway to enable the laptop to scan for wireless networks at startup?

Using an Inspiron btw, thanks!

Just hit the Power button to wake your laptop.

When you laptop is awake, it'll reconnect back to your wireless network.

Try "Repair"

I also faced this problem. while using a wireless router. Sometimes, when I leave the computer for a long time (it went into standby or hibernation or suspension) or I used Bitcomet while surfing the internet, the connection will just break off. I tried to reconnect and repair but the success rate is very very low. Most of the time, I just have to restart my computer.

Is there something wrong with the hardware or software?

The laptop will connect to your preferred network on startup.

Errr ... when I press the power button, the laptop restarted instead of waking up. Where is the suspend button too?

Now, I have to manually go to the Intel Proset Wireless, enable it, then scan for available networks and choose one to connect to.

Very mah fan ...

Hi, i placed my order on 3 Aug. The ETD given is 7 Aug. Possible meh? :s11:

I got my M1210 in 4 working days.

Possible.

lol

Anyway guys who own the M1210, I itchy hand went to open up my laptop to clean the sink. In the end I decided remove the thermal pad for the North bridge and GPU and apply Thermal Paste(CM Premium Gold, cant find Artic Silver) instead.

Guess what, after running 2 rounds of 3Dmark06, my GPU which used to be able to hit 74 degrees now only reaches 63. And that temperature is for my OC-ed GPU since I OC-ed it to 500Mhz, 1100Mhz.

Go have fun with it

usually, thermal paste will crack in only after using number of hours( i am sure more than 100hr). The temperature may drop by 2-5 degree.

In your case, maybe the guy did not apply the thermal paste nicely

Nope

Dell uses Thermal Pad, Pad not paste on the North Bridge and GPU while using paste on the CPU. As shown here

I removed all and use my own paste

But ya I know it takes time for it to set

But they will usually call 1 day before delivery? Until now I receive no calls. And under the Delivery Status, it's still in progress only. :(

I'm so excited for it to come :s22:
