DELL STREAK USERS COME IN !!!

Can you can do to your phone is, do a restore to your phone which means all data saved in phone deleted and immediately download another launcher from the market once after restore is make.

Don't need to do a factory reset for this. Just go to market.android.com, login, find the launcher that you want (zeam, adb, launcher pro, ex launcher), then install it from there.

When your phone finish downloading and installing the launcher, there should be a popup that asks you to select which home do you want to use (dell stage or downloaded one). click on the "set to default" first, and then click whatever you downloaded before. (if there's no popup asking for it, then press the home button).

Btw, those who wants to root, can use Gingerbreak (google it). I root mine easily, less than 5 mins. After that i bought BloatFreeze to freeze all those garbage dell app.

Same thing happened to me when i try upgrading my starhub set. I went to dell at funan to replace coz i tried many times and failed.

But i also remember that i didnt flashed the baseband. Maybe you want to try that first ?

The guy at the counter warned me that if i bricked it with the update again, he wont replace again. haha. so i stay clear of it now. But if i remember back, its the baseband (amss) that i forgot to flash.

Right now, i only root my phone, install titanium, bought the bloatfreezer from the market, change dell stage, and freeze all those bloatware.
Feels snappy but i know its miles from streakdroid.... which my hands have been itching now that i have root....

Battery depends on how much u r using it and how many apps are running in the background.

I have only a few background app running, removed the dell stage. used to read ebooks,whatsapp, browse a little bit and twitter/g+ a little bit, using widget that checks weather. with all of that, right now my Uptime in the About Phone says 35h:31m:xx s with 12% left. Maybe other users who uses their phone more aggressively can give another number.

It doesnt come with belt pouch, and i think it looks way too big to be attached to your belt. But you can find all cheap accessories from ebay. Few accessories you can get cheaper from dealextreme.

Anyways, I went ahead to tried to update again(never die mentality) and got it stuck at the Dell logo AGAIN.

I was initially hesitant to try again, but because hours into happily playing with my new streak, my Dell launcher crashed and got into a crash loop.

Ended up worst than the Dell logo. So I went ahead and tried to update again and got stuck at the Dell logo once more.

I can't believe singapore's streaks are so problematic! zzz!!

no the baseband is not inside the recovery file being flashed.

There's a tutorial zip there and a streakflash.zip which some ppl say can recover bricked phones (havent try it yet.. but as previous... why not ? )

the stock rom for dell streak is that bad. you guys should install custom rom on it for better experience.
i am on Lite Rom 1.2 with 351 baseband and CM custom recovery..
was on steve's 1.9.0 till i crossedbover to this. imho, its much better

anyway, for those of you who are having battery issues. i deleted off the latest facebook and maps from my streak. cos they seem to be eating up battery on idle.
as of now, i have clocked 30hrs uptime with 3G Data running. moderate usage. O/C to 1.19ghz
have 6 apps running in the background. 4 of which are constantly updating. i try to keep the running processes as minimal as possible

If you still have streakmod recovery installed, i have uploaded a fresh installation of simplestreak 1.2 here http://www.multiupload.com/VO4MPI0U0G.

If you have existing rom back up in your sdcard then unzip and copy the folder into the nanodroid backup directory, else create a directory called "rom_backup" and unzip the folder into it.

Once done, boot into the streakmod recovery and go to the nanodroid backup and select the option to restore.

Hopefully this will restore a working new simplestreak 1.2 rom into your streak.

yes u can. u need to go into fastboot mode and have adb installed on ur pc. power up while holding power and camera button together.

dont think it works for me.

needs to do some selection on a bootable streak to enable some debugging mode it seems.

i can enable only the dell logo though.. =/
