NO !
Dell online and i suspect most of those in SLS also 3 years warranty only !
best u
check BEFORE payment if 3/5 years warranty ...
also, if buying from SLS shops like TradePac ...
make very sure you see it is stated as 5 years either on
box, or
receipt BEFORE paying up ...
and also, ask if they allow
pixel testing (basically just put the
Dead Pixel Buddy program onto a flash drive, connect monitor to pc/laptop ... connect flash drive to that ... and cycle thru the various colours) ... and what is their policy in the event that u do encounter a problematic pixel etc ...
and if they don't allow, and got pixel issues once home, what is their policy ... bring it back 1-to-1 exchange ? or must go thru Dell / Ban Leong (distro) ...
** incidentally, if you do come across a dead/stuck pixel ... you could try these (before ringing up whoever it is u have to for RMA) :
UDPixel
Dan's Dead Pixel Fixer
do read up via the links above ...
it's not like 23 & 24 = 1" difference ...
it's a huge difference !
my room has 1 24" (personal) & 2 other 23" ... the 24 dwarfs them both

aspect ratio of 23" is 16:9 ... whilst 24" is 16:10 ...
to get an idea of the physical screen size difference (without stand) :
23" = 323.3 mm x 546.4 mm x 59.5 mm
24" =
361.6 mm x 556.0 mm x 64.9 mm
imho, if u can afford it (difference abt $100) and dun see yourself changing monitors anytime soon ...
the 24" is more value for $
entry level monitors has more or less shifted from old 19" to 23" ...
24" sits between that and the 27" panels ...
and as i've said, if u could afford ... go for the 24"
you won't regret lah !

... well perhaps one ... you could need some getting used to smaller screens thereafter
