where is the cheapest to get this monitor now?
also if we buy this from sls shop, if need to get a replacement due to defects, do you have to go through the shop or direct from Dell?

Service tag and warranty from Dell

Hi everyone,

I am keen to buy this U2412M. Does this model sold in SLS come with service tag? If without service tag, can I still able to get 1 to 1 exchange from dell for any death pixel or panel defect?

Thanks guys!!

Hi guys. I just bought this monitor and tried to connect my ps3 to it using a HDMI to DVI cable. Although there seems to be a connection, nothing shows up on the monitor and I'm just staring at a black screen for 5mins. Does anyone know what problem I am facing here?

1. check your connection got connect properly or not
2. check if you got set the monitor input source to auto or DVI-D
3. cable spoil? try another cable?
4. make sure HDMI setting on ur PS3 is on
5. if all of the above don't work then likely is either your PS3 or monitor spoil

Did you change your input choice in the OSD?

For the ps3:
I set the video output to HDMI 1080p since U2412M can support 1080p. 1080i is unchecked because monitors cannot use it. Audio output is set to SCART (different from HDMI).

I have also tried lowering the output to 720p in case the monitor cannot display 1080p.

The ps3 runs fine when I connect it to my HDTV, and it can display HDMI @ 1080p/1080i/720p.

For the U2412M:
I tried both DVI-D input and auto input. DVI_D input will show that there is no input detected, while auto will just give a black screen.

My com is also using the monitor, and it is connected via DVI also. So the monitor DVI connection is not spoilt. I'm using a GTX760, and the nvidia controller shows that HDCP is working fine.

For the whole setup, I used a HDMI to DVI-D (dual link) cable, and a RCA converter for the audio. Both acquired from Newstead and tested to work before purchase.

Is there anything wrong I'm doing here?

Hey, I tried your suggestion but it did not work unfortunately. Any other suggestions? At this point, I am willing to try almost anything.

Does it have anything to do with the HDMI to DVI cable? Maybe the cable cannot transmit HDCP?

In the event that it really isn't possible to work, what is the best 24-inch monitor with hdmi capability?
