Unless the application you are running doesn't support 1920x1200, there's no reason not to run at native resolution.

And if your gpu can't handle games at this resolution, maybe its time to upgrade.

No la i haven buy this monitor yet, jus wondering if better to change the reso to 1920x1080 or stick to the native reso for gaming.

Is 1920x1200 consider wide screen in gaming?

Is it good enough to handle games like Black Ops with U2412M?

It's always better to run LCD at their native resolution for best results. FYI, the scaler in the monitor only has options for 16:10, 4:3 and 5:4 scaling. But this can be overcome by using your GFX card to do the scaling instead.

Yes, both resolutions are widescreen. Just that 16:9 is the standard opted by consoles which encouraged by the fact most console gamers connect their PS3 and Xbox360 to LCD TVs which are all 16:9

What your rig? COD:BO runs very smooth on my system(X3 710+HD6850). The game engine hasn't changed much since the MW and it's taxes the CPU more than the GPU.

Confirm can, guarantee chop! :D

The day where a PC game cannot be displayed on a PC Monitor, then it is the death of PC gaming :s13:

Since 16:9 is mainstream now, there are more modern games that use 1920x1080.

One example is Witcher 2, which did not support 1920x1200 (gives black bars) until very recently.

Not going to start a 16:9 vs 16:10 debate, I am just saying 16:10 is better for work.

Witcher 2 is probably a good example that 16:10 is mainstream for gaming. Because the developers were forced by popular demand to release a patch for 16:10.

For work, I find nothing wrong with a 16:9 U2711 in landscape. If you work in portrait mode, 2 x U2412m at 10:16 would of course be better

1.Deus Ex: Human Revolution
2. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
3.Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
4.Rage-
5.Call of Juarez: The Cartel
6.Call of Duty: Black Ops
7.Might & Magic: Heroes VI
8.Two Worlds II
9.World of Warcraft: Cataclysm
10. F.E.A.R. 3

I am not hardcore gamer so maybe I don't find it very obvious.

For me, I didn't notice any ghosting even on my previous monitor, Dell 2007wfp (16 ms).

Thx bro, then i shall get this monitor then. Actually waiting for Samsung 24a850 the new technology PLS screen. :s7:
