Hi All,

Just bought this monitor and love it. How do I register this monitor for the 3yrs warranty...there is no card or anything to fill in.

Found out online that I need to register online with a service tag, but monitor also no this tag ler...or I cannot find...

How...? Anyone with solutions...kindly help..

You can call Dell call center to check warranty status , just tell them monitor's serial number

I bought my U2410H during COMEX and I called Dell yesterday to checked with them regarding warranty registration. They said there is no need to register online if you buy from retailer. You just need to keep the receipt. I also checked with them regarding extending the warranty. They said it is not possible to extend it to 4/5 years.

i believe 1920x1080 is now more commonly used in games and movies.

Once use IPS, no turning back.

But even for IPS, there are different grades and within the same grade, manufacturers tweak differently.

I use LG IPS236 for 3 months and change to 2412, significant difference for me although both using same panel.

Hard coating on LG makes viewing angle bad, 16:9 aspect ratio is not ideal for normal web surfing and work. 16:10 can do whatever 16:9 can, but not the other way round. I'm going to stick to 16:10 for live.

Now extremely pleased with 2412, the contrast and viewing angle makes you reject any TN immediately.

Lowest end of IPS will still beat the crap out of high end TN.

There is a philips model with 'high end TN', on paper viewing angle is 178/178 which is same as IPS, aspect ratio 16:10. But being a seasoned IPS user, I can tell right away it's a TN. I'm sure viewing angle isn't as stated.

Sometimes it's the limitation of technology, like a high end hard disk will never beat a ssd for its 0.1ms seek time.

He is not entirely incorrect as most games nowadays are developed around consoles which are predominantly 16:9

Of course, when porting the games to PC, usually developers will still include 16:10 resolutions. However due to the FOV and sometimes porting not done properly, the result can be unsatisfactory to some.

E.g: Konami PES series still doesn't have native support for 16:10 without black bars for PC

In this case, you need to see both TN & eIPS panels side by side to determine for yourself and your usage.

Specs ain't everything. After all it's your eyes.

It is highly unlikely you can find a TN panel at a much lower price which is as good as a eIPS.

Since 16:9 is mainstream now, there are more modern games that use 1920x1080.

One example is Witcher 2, which did not support 1920x1200 (gives black bars) until very recently.

Not going to start a 16:9 vs 16:10 debate, I am just saying 16:10 is better for work.
