Agreed.

Actually, with the various discount given by the petrol station, the different for diesel is not that significant, example, smart energy 1.11 vs caltex 1.21.

I agree. Once you factor in all the discounts, cashbacks, & points, the difference is not really significant. Even at 10c, that works out to be $6 or so for a full tank which translates to less than a cent per km. I suppose unless you literally stay or work right next to these pumps, you are probably better off just pumping at a more convenient location and using the right credit cards to max out the discounts.

BTW, I'm paying effectively 1.095c at Esso & clocking Smiles points. This is using DBS Esso MC & the $5 off $50 coupons from the closure of the Tampines Ave 7 station.

Based on the feedbacks I'll not waste my time with Smart..
Just finished a tank of Caltex from Whitley. 17% haven't included the Linkpoints and CC rebates.
Haven't got a baseline to compare against yet.. No loss of power though a tank can go only about 750km.
Shell will be next.. Rather near home.. Going to see if it's fuelsave like they claim..

Just drive in JB, dun need pump in Singapore as diesel cars not restricted by 3/4 tank rule. Enjoy it while it last. :s13:

Thanks bro.
Last minute didn't manage to find out which stations are already Euro 5. Seems like they are still not fully converted yet.
I'll pump their fuel next time..

The 1st Petron station after 2nd link towards KL is Euro 5 diesel. On the other side (towards SG), only the Petronas station sells Euro 5 diesel.

Additional info...
Make sure u use the diesel with blue color pump, not the black one.
It's located further inside the station, isolated from the rest.

One thing I find that it is not worth if one goes in for the diesel.
In SG after the discounts and cc rebates, it end up only about 30-40 cents diff and not much diff if u use SMART.
No thanks to all the toll fees and jam.

Going in to NSHW do get to stretch the car muscles and clear the DPF :s13:
