MediaCropTV DVB-T2 only at 1080i. Look very blur on Full HD LED TV. Hope they can switch 1080p soon
It will remain at 1080i for many years. There is no incentive for them to upgrade the bandwidth to do 1080p.

Since the active antenna relies on the antenna amplifier to turn from passive to active, I paired my DIY biquad antenna with the amplifier from my Funke/Margon Home 2.0 for some testing.

With USB power supplied to the amplifier, TBS 5220 showed signal quality/SNR of 100% and Signal Strength of 95%, Channel 8's Sheng Siong Show 18 used for this testing.

When I cut power to the amplifier, there was no change to the 2 figures.

Like I mentioned earlier, if the DTV signal quality (90-100%) in your house is good without using an active antenna, then there is really not much difference. Some houses' set-top boxes can even receive FTA DTV signal without even using any antenna or any cables.

For other users living in low DTV signal area, they might need a good active antenna.

I hate it when I bought a lousy and expensive antenna.

Is it that bad?

Read this to understand about it:

http://www.cnet.com/how-to/1080i-and-1080p-are-the-same-resolution/

http://www.cnet.com/how-to/set-top-box-setup-which-resolution-is-best/

CNet said: either 720P or 1080i. CNet said: 1080i = 1080p.

If you want clear image go for Netflix premium plan 4k video streaming with a 4K OLED Tv.

Or pick an antenna design with good gain and DIY. Canadians have been modelling OTA antennas for more than 10 years. They even have dedicated forum to discuss antenna design. Of course, most of the outdoors designs can't be used here in Singapore. But still there are a few designs that may be suitable for indoors and our HDB flats.

For example, the Stealth Hawk. Detailed dimensions found here.

Checked back my replies in this thread. That happened to me for the past 2 weeks plus., ChnU, CNA HD n Okto HD. Until I get a loaned active antenna to try at home and all are good now. Will buy a set before I return the loaned antenna.

Anyone experience stutters on Ch U at 570MHz ?
Damn annoyed by it while watching shows on Channel U, like watching some pirated DVDs.. :o

It used to be good, only recently. I got an active antenna with amplifier switched on plugged to my TV's USB port

I think mine got bad ard the same period as urs. I only started watching digital on 1st Jan. For the 1st week or so it was good. Only after that the 3 channels got very unstable.
Got my antenna around 12 Jan. Before that was good, only from yesterday onwards started to see this more frequently(previously there's some stutter but very rare)

You can call Mediacorp Digital helpline to feedback and see what they can offer. They are quite responsive to my feedback and loan me the active antenna to test.

I'm using Wavecom antenna now, all's good now with an active amplifier attached. Good with its cheap price.

You can also consider the Margon/Funke antenna too, available at Fairprice Xtra hypermarts too
