Hi, would like to seek some advice here.
I bought a rig from Aftershock recently. Kept experiencing static shop when power on or when touch the back of the desktop.

What causes it and any solution? I tried to seek Aftershock's advice but they were not very responsive.
Some consideration to try

1. The power plug from psu is directly wall plug and not through any extension socket
2. check the display cable is of certified shield cable
3. disable standby power of the USB connected device in Mobo bios
4. Make sure your room is air ventilation well and not air conditioner all time.

Hi all PC expert,
I plan to build my first desktop PC for 1440p gaming and productivity work such as programming, graphic processing, and video editing.

Any recommendation?

Thanks in advance.

sounds like something is shorting and not properly grounded. maybe try with another mains outlet?

hi, with the below details, can you recommend me a rig based on my usage? i've got a budget between $1k to $.15k (of course cheaper is preferred), can be from aftershock, invaderpc or simlim.
if possible, can recommend me different rigs at different price range please?

i have an existing computer (6-7 yo) which is getting alot of bluescreen recently. should be dying soon. my windows 10 OS is in the 256 samsung ssd.

usage
  • movies (youtube,netflix)
  • excel
  • web browsing
  • games such as GTA5(potentially 6 in future) and three kingdoms total war
  • dual prism monitor 24" @ 144ghz - potentially switching out to 1 single 38" in future

current build
  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
  • 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
  • Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
  • 250GB SSD
  • 1TB HDD
  • Windows 10 pro
  • BaseBoard Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
    BaseBoard Product H97-D3H-CF

as mentioned by 86technie and iceblendedchoc in ur dedicated thread, i would advise u to check ur ram and/or reinstall windows first or get a pc repair specialist to do it for u. u seem pretty ok with its performance aside from the bsods (usage doesnt look very intensive overall) so i would say trying to keep ur hardware alive as long as is viable is the more cost effective option.

if u do plan to replace the system, the only parts that can be salvaged are the drives and case, everything else is too obsolete. again, u can look at the first post for recommendations if u diy; aftershock has been running quite a compelling promo with the 5600 + 6700xt for under 1k but they cheaped out quite conspicuously.

Hi guys,

A friend of mine is going to build an entirely new AMD 7800X3D from ground up. We are in the midst of short listing reasonably good mobos to match the 7800X3D, however not too sure which ones are value for money. We prioritise good power delivery, and might do overclocking that is good for daily + gaming use, and then many I/O ports (USB).

We could seek your help by recommending maybe 4 or 5 such mobos. Thank you!

asus am5 boards are the best today, good variety and best bios for overclocking. but they priority is tweak for x670e first than flow to b650 range

second is asrock, more value for money, slightly weaker bios

gigabyte got good hardware board but sucks in bios, even some their mobo got complain of coil whine

msi like focusing more on Intel.

amazon.de got sell x670e gene for S$620 no warranty but now Oos. good for ram oc.

other wise Asus x670e-f , b650e-e, asrock pg650e. :o

but i unable to find all the parts.
not sure what u mean by unable to find all parts? do u mean u cannot find the case included? in which case, i have explained why in the opening paragraph of the first post.

this is basically the enthusiast reco with an enthoo pro; not too sure why youd go with that case unless u are reusing it from an older build. i would also opt for the 7600 non x to shave a few dollars since it is nearly identical to the 7600x in performance, though tiagong the tuf b650m is oos from dynacore (which i assume u are getting it from) so u can opt for some of the alternative boards i suggested here:

u can look at the value gaming pc reco, those games are not difficult to run. if u want a small pc, can look at the tecware fusion, about nr200 size while accommodating matx mobo and atx psu (which most recommendations have). this should leave u with 2k for monitor and peripherals, which is plenty though i have less info in those fields.
I looking the smallest atx case size of a x box or ps. Any recommendations?
xbox very difficult as its footprint is smaller than mini itx mobos, ps maybe still can. look at the sfftime p-atx:
https://www.sfftime.com/p-atx
or if u want something from a more established brand, theres the ssupd meshroom s:

any b650 board that isn't bottom of the barrel will do fine, power delivery wise all except the asus prime series can handle a 7950x at full tilt. overclocking is pointless on ryzen though, as a manual setting of multiplier applies to both single and all core clocks, so gaming performance will be adversely affected as your single core boost will actually end up lower than stock. ur better off undervolting it, which actually lowers the power delivery requirements.

if u can find the asus tuf gaming b650m from dynacore or asrock b650m pg riptide for a reasonable price (~$260), those would be good picks. else, basic boards like the msi pro b650m-a or gigabyte b650m ds3h will do well too. honestly, for a 7800x3d, an a620 board will do just fine as well; seeing the asrock a620m pro rs go for 200ish which would be the value pick.

oh a a620m would be good for a 7800x3d?
the same way its odd that a 320m would be good for a 5800x3d too
i could be wrong i am just asking here... dont shoot me down...

i would say so.
despite the main takeaway of the video being to be wary of a620 cpu support, for the 7800x3d in particular it seems to be fixed with latest bios. i assume they would've propagated this fix to their other a620 boards too; vrm wise the hdv seems similar to the pro rs but with a much smaller heatsink and handles even the 7950x3d fine, so I wouldn't be worried about the pro rs. then again, when ur splashing this much cash for a x3d processor, a motherboard that isn't bottom of the barrel would be in order.

Asrock A620m Pro RS + 7950x, score better than x670e mobo in cinebench lol

This mobo available in sg, can get at 18x during sales date

Love that white design
