as called out below by @RockaRolla the igpu would be useful for troubleshooting, I think I've made up my mind, thanks folks!

In the long run, it is better to keep a cheap GPU like GTX 560 so that if you change CPUs next time, you don't need to keep paying extra for those with GPUs.

op1: better vrms? slightly slower cpu vs op2: good vrm, faster cpu+igpu

option 1: MSI MAG B650M MORTAR WIFI | 7500f $492
option 2: ASUS TUF GAMING B650M-E WIFI | 7600 $486
i would get option 2, ur paying less for a cpu with igpu. vrms dont matter at this power level, and both will comfortably power 16c am5 anyway (the tuf m-e being slightly better actually as iceblendedchoc linked). while msi's am4 range was pretty decent, them skipping on any pcie5 support on basically all their b650 boards is a mistake imo. all the other brands have at least gen5 nvme on some of their midrange boards like the tuf m-e, again for a cheaper price.
if u already have a gpu why look at igpu?
comparable price, and easier to debug if gpu fails.

Hi all, noob here. Im looking for recommendations on a new pc or laptop for work from home purposes and an occasional gaming. Planning to subscribe to GEforce Now for that so I think I will need a good CPU to handle AAA games and can ignore graphic card requirements? My only concern is the pc or laptop heating up while playing.

Will not consider to DIY as I dont have the time to research and source for parts for it. Any suggestions?

any reasonably modern cpu is enough, since geforce now does all the processing required for gaming and all ur cpu has to do is stream the control input and video output. if dont want to diy, invaderpc has a basic 5600g pc for under $600 (u can diy a similar setup for closer to $500, see first post). or if u dont care about upgrading it in the future, u can get a mini pc which can be had for even less.

then u come to the diy thread for what :s22:

this $827 price appears to be the combo with the msi b650i edge, correct price is 765. even though the actual price is lower, i would recommend u get the asus tuf b650m-e instead, as it is much cheaper @ 657, supports pcie gen5 nvme with everything else being pretty similar.

do check with them what the secondary timings of this kit are, ie the cl numbers, ideally should be cl30. ponying up an extra $20 for the set with confirmed cl30 timing isnt a bad choice.

the a3-matx supports regular atx psus, which can be had for a much cheaper price. dynacore offers the cm v650 v2 gold for just 120 (though in white).

Thanks for the insight, did a google search and people are using this for 7800 x3D.

Thanks for spotting my mistake, I am getting blind haha.
I see there is a ASUS TUF GAMING B650M-PLUS WIFI is there any difference.
I do understand about the PSU but due to 4070ti super require 750w so 650w would be sufficient?

Is there a alternative Asus version for 4070TI that can you recommend? I try o have not go everywhere when need to RMA

the -e is a slightly cut down version of the plus, but unless u need the second nvme heatsink, they are by and large the same thing.

manufacturer recommendations usually include a lot of headroom. have personally ran cards that are 600w recommended on a 450w psu without issue. outside of oc, the 4070tiS consumes around 300w under load, with spikes of up to 340w, only about half of a 650w psu. the rest of the system shouldnt exceed 150w, as the 78x3d sips power.
Is there a alternative Asus version for 4070TI that can you recommend?
the ti is a step down from the tiS. i wouldnt get asus either, since their cards are generally a lot more expensive ($100-200 upcharge) for no good reason.
Storage - LEXAR NM790 1TB NVME Gen4 (7400R/6500W)
a proper quality drive like the 980pro or sn850x isnt that big of a top up away, especially when ur already spending so much.
Casing - Tecware NEO M2 TG - Black
truly minmax :s22:
Power Supply - Thermalright TG 850W 80+ Gold Certified (ATX3.0+Gen5)
havent seen too many reviews of thermalright psus, better to stick to more reputable units.

Complete newbie attempting to build a PC via InvaderPC. Would appreciate advice on whether I should change any parts for better value.

Processor - Ryzen5 7500F
Cooler - Stock
Motherboard - ASUS TUF GAMING B650M-E WIFI
RAM - 32GB TEAM T-FORCE DELTA RGB DDR5 6000MHz CL30
Storage - Samsung 980 Pro 7000MB/s Gen4 Nvme M.2
Casing - Montech AIR 100 LITE
Graphics Card - Asus Amd Radeon Dual RX 7800XT O16G Twin Fan GDDR6 OR
Powercolor Hellhound Amd Radeon RX 7800XT 16GB OC Triple Fan GDDR6
Power Supply - CM MWE Gold V2 750W ATX3.0 80+ Gold Modular

Not sure if my build can fit into the case I've chosen. If not, are there any other case with open-able side door that is under $100?
Also, the 2 graphics card difference is around $100. Is it worth to take the Twin Fan since my air flow and thermal should be pretty good?

Montech AIR 100 LITE - gpu clearance is 330mm, Powercolour is 322mm or 332mm w/ bracket which i presume is the anti-sag bracket. If so, use a different type of anti-sag bracket available in the market or find something to put in between to support your GPU.

I rather go with powercolour hellhound than Asus dual.

nothing wrong with the original case, just that it was the only cheapo part on there, but it will fit all the parts fine. psu is good too, though i would maybe go for cheaper 750w like the rm750e or adata core reactor ii ve 750w.

when buying amd cards, i would always choose amd exclusive board partners (sapphire, powercolor, xfx) over others, since their coolers actually work. asus cards are usually poorly priced anyway, sounds like ur paying more for the asus card and lose a fan? yea no.

Thanks for the wisdom. The 2fan asus is $100~ cheaper than the 3fan powercolor though.

Went with this final list:
AMD RYZEN 5 7500F 3.7GHz 6CORE/12THREAD
MSI MAG B650M MORTAR WIFI AM5
THERMALRIGHT PA 120 SE BLACK ARGB DUAL HEATSINK
TEAM T-FORCE DELTA RGB BLACK DDR5 6000MHz 32GB(16GBx2) CL30
POWERCOLOR HELLHOUND AMD RADEON RX 7800XT
WD BLACK SN850X 1TB GEN4 7300MB/s NVMe M.2 (better ssd)

COOLER MASTER MWE V2 750W GOLD
COOLER MASTER ELITE 301 ARGB BLACK TYPE C (only have this case)

4 X 120MM ARGB FANS
HIGH-SPEED AX WIRELESS AND BT | WIFI 6 + BT 5.2
WINDOWS 11 HOME UN-ACTIVATED

Was quoted $1765. Everything looks good?

Hi guys, is the Lian Li A4-H2O the smallest case available that can fit AIO coolers? From my own research on youtube and reddit, not all 240mm AIO coolers fit the case. Many pple seem to be using the EK-Nucleus AIO CR240 but that model like cannot find in sls. Can give some recommendations on AIO coolers that fit the case?

Hi experts,

Looking for a new pc. Age is getting on with me and am not willing to fumble with DIY or troubleshooting.

Been catching up and reading few threads here on HWC.

Please advice if this is a good value option to take from invader M16.

Usage: Mid range gaming (mobile games like GI), mostly on windowed clients on my 4K OLEDTV using as a monitor

Price point: $1.5k
