yea, prebuilts are generally better bang for buck these days.

i would spend an extra $100 or so for the upgrade from am4 to am5 (<1.5k for 7500f + 7800xt is still insanely hard to beat).

if u have pcie slots yes. but the phenom is so old it is unlikely to make use of any current gpu to its full potential.

i would go for asrock, it is generally cheaper with a similar feature set.

yes.
If go with ASRock, need to flash bios? I check pc part picker mention compatibility ?

Hi peeps,

I intending to get a new pre-built PC (currently using I7-6700 + 1060 6GB, feeling laggy & PC old liao).
Purpose: for FPS/Casual gaming(eg. OW2 / CS2 / Monster Hunter /Palworld) + Watching Video.

Can advise which of the below pre-built is reasonable to get or sufficient for another 5-7years?
or any other prebuilt suggestion @ budget less than S$2,000?

id go for prebuilt1 (invaderpc), u can refer to my post about aftershock mobo and psu deficiencies, and id trust the mx500 over the ns100. id also save the $100 and stick with the 7500f, the 7700 is not that much faster in gaming especially if ur gpu limited.

Thanks man! If there is no price different to upgrade to G.SKILL FLARE X5 AMD EXPO 6000MHz 32GB CL32(16GBx2), vs KINGSTON FURY BEAST RGB AMD EXPO 6000MHz 32GB(16GBx2) CL36. Should go for CL32 ya?

>500 for 7600xt is kinda meh
or there's not much options for new, 450 +/- 4060 new at 100 less

i feel no current gen card at 450~500 gives great value
would you go 2nd hand market ? 6700xt is a no brainer <400

relativeperf.jpg
6700xt 2nd hand lowest is 400 in carousel. And oit of warranty. :(

Hi All,

Looking to build a new PC for gaming and some light work. Looking to mainly game on 1080p 24" AOC 24G4 Monitor.

After going through the thread, it seems like these are the specs that constantly pop up. With regards to GPU, Fighter / Hellhound?

Will appreciate any feedback (if any) to reduce cost if possible. [Is 2TB of storage too much? 1TB sufficient?]

Additionally, anyone has a mATX case for recommendation? Not necessary to have RGB, looking for something simple that can provide sufficient airflow to keep the PC cool.

CPUAMD Ryzen 5 7500F
MotherboardMSI Pro B650M-A WIFI
CPU CoolerThermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE
GPUPowerColour Fighter / Hellhound RX 7800 XT
RAMADATA XPG Lancer Blade RGB 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL30
StorageWD Black SN850X 2TB
PSUADATA XPG Core Reactor 750W 80+ Gold
Case??

The 120 adata xpg core reactor has ran out from pckaki. Lowest I could find is 145 now...

Would silverstone da750w be a good choice at 119?

I jump the gun and got the da850. I thought it is on tier B. However it is on tier C. The 550/650w are the one on tier B... :)

Also, note that dynacore 7500f is from tray. Asus tuf b650m is on a white box...

yes, cl32 at the same clocks is lower latency vs cl36.

performance wise, not much difference. the hellhound does run very cool, though there is a slight premium vs the fighter.

techyard has the 7800xt and ddr5 ram at fairly good prices.

u can look at cases like the cooler master nr400, with big mesh front intakes. there are also some affordable atx cases that have great airflow, can go google around.

have u tried performance pc? they still have a carou listing for it at 125. anyway, i would just pony up an extra $20 for an asus rog strix from pct if that is also oos, silverstone units arent that great.
Also, note that dynacore 7500f is from tray.
the ones from pckaki which i previously recommended are also tray, but they provide wraith stealth. personally not worried since cpus generally wont need warranty, but it seems like 7500fs sold locally are not distro provided.

I got talked into getting the ss da850 psu in dynacore. Haha. Maybe I can still return and top up. They offered coolermaster mwe v2 850w for 145... not sure how much lower they could give the asus rog strix.

aiya means no one buying, but they still need to clear stock so of course will want to psycho ppl into buying mah. but tbf, if u read the footnotes about the da850 in the tier list, a big reason why it is tier c is because its protections dont work fully with 115v mains, so i think it should be a decent unit locally with our 240v mains. not amazing, but still not bad value for a 850w unit.

maybe stick to the da850. the rog strix i suggested is from another store, which looks to be a pct promo price. they are also running the cm mwe v2 gold for about 120, though the price list and reality may not always add up. they also did try to psycho me into buying a thermaltake unit when i was checking availability for the mwe bronze v2 once :s13:

Dynacore allowed me to change to asus rog strix. But higher price (160) than others. So the few dollars I saved from getting the mobo+cpu combo from them went to the PSU. Haha.
I have now build the pc. Took me 5hours until windows installed. I still need to manage the web of wires. Haha.

hi guys! i've been using my current setup since 2019 and some of the case fans stopped working (probably due to broken fan hub). if i want to upgrade my fans, case and possibly even the motherboard, where can I go to get these parts for cheaper prices?

Seems like whenever someone listed silverstone as their psu, you guys will ask them to upgrade to seasonic or adata. Is Silverstone condemned with RMAs or failures? 550W non-modular gold $90 can get, quite value for money. I was wondering Is there diminishing returns to get $150 seasonic gold.

My 2013 PSU is still running very well despite very heavy daily usage. Kucheng kurat brand Andysen. Not even 80+. Last time I don't know what is 80+, so I got a kucheng kurat one. So if andysen can run well for so many years, silverstone should surpass it as silverstone gold is not kucheng kurat brand, no?

how about antec? condemned or not?
