yes. just remember to enable ftpm.I look at the spec for msi pro vdh wifi, they say only support window 10. Will it be able to support window 11?
despite the similar names, the 5600 and 5600g are actually 2 very different products. the 5600g has integrated graphics, but is a monolithic die (ie every function of the cpu is on 1 silicon chip) as opposed to the non g series like the 5600 which is chiplet based (ie compute part of cpu is 1 or 2 silicon chips and io part is another chip, then package together into 1 cpu). the 5600 does not have integrated graphics, but features a much larger cache than the 5600g.I still wonder whats the diff btw the 2 and cant figure out![]()
the mortar max combo with the 5600g is $60 more expensive than the pro vdh wifi. the mortar max features a better vrm and flashier aesthetics, the former being wasted on a low power cpu like the 5600g. if ur router does not support wifi6, the premium is totally wasted. u can also choose to replace the onboard wifi urself, a wifi6 capable ax200 is only $30 at most, plus u can sell the existing card to offset the cost.By the way MAG B50M Mortar MAx WIFI has WIFI 6, and Bluetooth 5.2.
Is there much diff and value for the price upgrade?
ive bought a few before, both new and used. all had no problem, though i did go for well known brands like wd and kingston. just bought a used 1tb sn730 from there for cheap and works in my system, bought it to replace the intel 545s i bought 4 years ago also from taobao. u can also refer here:Anyone bought SSD/ M2 from Taobao before?
Any reliable brand to recommend?

i think deepblue is talking about the ethernet port on the motherboard, like how 2.5gbps ethernet ports are becoming the standard.fibre? for home PCs? or are talking about network level switching? I hope consumer PCs dont need fibre connectivity bah?
u did mention is just for daily use rather than hardcore gaming. any modern gpu, including integrated graphics, will be able to handle 1440p general use easily, 4k also, so i wouldnt be worried with either the entry level reco or any current handheld. For me, im still on the old ultrasharp 1440p display. so probably have to put GPU into considerations. Even if its lenovo legion go, i have to worry if docked to desktop, how will the Z1 Extreme holds.
was gonna suggest 7800xt over the 4070 until i reread energy efficiencyI am looking at building a balanced build (gaming/productivity/energy efficiency) "performance" build around the 7800x3d and 4070. I am aiming for 64GB with expo, 1tb storage with at least 1tb backup storage. Scientific computing and 1440p gaming.
Any advice on a good full-build based on what is available at Sim Lim now? Comments on the CPU/GPPU is more than welcome.
don't have much other comments other than sticking to 32gb of ram, 64gb is very overkill unless u have a use case where u know u will exceed 32gb. u also don't need expo, xmp works just as well on am5 and xmp kits are generally cheaper.the 5600 + 6700xt deal is very compelling for those under a 1k budget, if u can look past where they skimped out on. the 7700xt and 7800xt deals improve on the motherboard front (the 7700xt one is also very good value for money overall), though the psu is still quite garbage and 16gb of ram on the 7800xt build is a little low at this price class. but u should be able to get fairly close to the 7800xt build price if u shop around abit, these parts which are similar (other than the ram which is faster and at 32gb) cost me not too much more.i know aftershock is not really something that is preferred here but their price is so competitive i can't turn my eye away.

I tried to look around the price list with similar build and they easily hit 2k :/
i wouldn't say so. this looks like it's from aftershock, and if ur okay with them they have the 7700xt build I commented on above which is cheaper and a lot faster.morning all, need your advise on this set up, is it worth? quote 1.25k
AMD Ryzen 5 5400
ASROCK B550m WIFI SE
16GB Lexar Ares RGB DDR4 3600Mhz (8x2)
Gigabyte RTX 4060Ti Eagle - 8GB
800W FSP Hydro Pro 80+ Bronze
1TB LExar NM620 Gen3 SSD
that would be ideal, though u have to remember to reinstall the original parts if u need to claim warranty. What do you think if i get the base from them and top up with my own nvme, cooler and psu?
