yeah find it irritating also and on IOS dont seem to have a way to disable that calling function.

the new software update also seem to broke my doorbell. Command has been flashing green for a long time now and it says do not turn off the power... not sure if i should proceed to pull out the plug.

i assume u referring to just the ringtone of the chime, yes u can mute it and have voice notifications via google nest/speaker etc.
However u still need to have the chime connected as it acts as a hub for the doorbell

I bought the Tapo D235 which can be powered and used as cctv. The microSD card is on the doorbell and they gave a chime that can be inserted into the 3 pin plug. My initial thinking is to use Google nest or Alexa as the chime so that if someone press bell, I can talk to them through Google nest.

I searched through internet but can’t find similar used cases

Hey i just bought the tapo d235 too. What power adaptor did you use for the wired option? And do we need to use a transformer as well?

Actually can use the built in battery. I haven’t buy an adapter but is thinking of a 12V 1A or 12V 1.5A to power this. According to specs, they say min 10VA transformer

Can you test whether can use Google nest or Alexa as the chime? lol! I can’t test mine as it is with my contractor

Sorry but i dont have a google nest or alexa to test for you but it did give out a doorbell sound on my google home app.

Hi everyone, take note that the wired connection for Tapo requires an AC adapter to power at 10VA. I realised those DC powered don’t work for doorbell cameras. And also AC adapter is less common than DC adapters

Used TAPO for 1 year already. Damn good. Movement also alert you. Press doorbell can talk to person. Can record preset messages

My experience is different. Used one month, problems arise: (could be installation issue)
1. Can talk to person at the door when I am home - if I am outside, can see delivery guy, but cannot talk!
2. Parcel placed on the floor in front of door, cannot see. Specs mentioned can capture Head-to-Toe.
3. Suddenly no recording, but later can record
4. Set doorbell to ring 1 minute, but only ring 2 times.
5. Whenever my neighbours pass, the display on my phone show image of a person, a person like moving, and occasionally a parcel, which is the backpack my neighbour is carrying.
Once a parcel was delivered at my door, but the camera didn't capture it.
6. a lot more, but too long to list all.
I don't know if the installer did it correctly. I had a TP Link Wifi Deco, and this was on my older iphone.
I want to view the doorcam recording on my new iphone. Maybe he should download Doorbell app on my new iphone and not link to the old iphone on Wifi. Now recordings showed on both iphone.
I want to have this completely re-set. Do you know of a reliable contractor for doorbell cam.?

I bought the D235 and hard wired it. It becomes like cctv. lol! Recording live and when ppl press the doorbell, it triggers the app

Yes. I am able to get the video when the doorbell is pressed on Amazon fireHD and google home screen.
