My old doorbell that damaged is a old hdb doorbell that no camera. Because I changed to the one with camera. Current doorbell has motion detector. Can capture anyone who walk past unit.

Anyone currently using Tapo doorbell experiencing any Hub Ring/Siren issues after recent firmware update?
am trying to isolate if its a firmware or hardware issue thanks

Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 Build 20240221 rel.53262
Recently had a firmware update prompt, which i did, 1.3.0 Build 20240221 rel.53262.
However i noticed that my Hub is no longer able to ring / siren, be it via
1) manual testing within the Ringtone settings or
2) trying triggering via my paired doorbell pressed or motion detection
3) automation
4) Doorbell Ring -> Ring connected Hub -> Hub Sound settings

The Play Ringtone on the hub is always reflected permanently at "Playing..." (Press again to stop but it auto reverted back to playing)

Have already tried resetting the hub & running out of ideas.

Strange. Mine when I checked there is no newer version than the one I’m currently has.

probably im the sway 1 to get the early OTA 1.3.0 push which is probably buggy

My Tapo H200 only at 1.2.25, no new firmware prompt, check for firmware and it says up to date.

I got notification for the new update today and proceeded to do so. No issue with ringing through the hub by pressing the door bell or testing through app

i think the firmware adds Matter support but somehow broke my hub's siren/ringing. Currently in touch with tplink tech engineer support team to see if they are able to rectify it, if not probably have to rma via banleong i guess

any recommendations for wired doorbell? thinking of google nest but not really available in singapore. looking at aqara but the video quality seems inferior to google and night vision not as good?

Google wired doorbell can be purchased by some seller but warranty is an issue.

Or wait for Tapo, which has a new wired model coming soon.

The image quality from their battery operated model is good.

The new model is said to be able to show head to toe image.

For Google nest subscription, need to subscribe via Google Nest Australia, enter a Perth address to get the correct (local) time stamp.

Want to know this too. Xiaomi the chime need to connect to usb otherwise no sound. Is it the same for tapo? I just need cam recording when there are movement not 24/7 surveillance. I use it more to see who’s at the door and record Lazada deliveries. Prefer those charge one time can last a long time and no need to connect wire

i got the tapo one in the end. no need connect the doorbell to usb, got ppl ring the hub will ring and your phone can ring also. just need to connect the hub thats included to your wifi and plug it in your house. installed for 1 mth ald and so far so good, battery life use 1 mth still got around 65% left, if want can get additional battery to standby, works with their other cameras also. just that if got notification quite annoying if many ppl walk past your door.
