Dreamcore vs Aftershock Desktop Computers

Dreamcore service is good and price is cheaper then DIY.
Main thing its covered with 3yrs warranty, peace of mind...for personal or small company use...

How about parts with commonly 5 years warranty like PSU?

They take away the headache for the stipulated period of 3 years I suppose. The remainder will be up to you I suppose.

Anyone had experience with dealing with them for RMA? Curious on how well they manage that while charging a low premium.

I am guessing they use the 3 year warranty and get less than 1% of people claiming which is what makes it worthwhile as they are to sell more.

What specs are you looking at? For me if its a mid to high end build I would DIY. If your unable to do this on your own maybe work with some friends on a small project (while maintaining social distancing of course!).

I am new to this and still reading up on the specs so i cant really comment on the specs.

Similar to the other users, i would like to have a peace of mind in terms of recommendation during building as well as after sales service.

for non-extended warranty
1st-year free service to pick-up/return, labour and parts.
2nd/3rd years ownself pay for transports, labour & parts covered...
After 3rd yrs, pay for transports & labour if parts covered by warranty...

Any recent comments on Dreamcore? Planning to get one once ** is over. It looks like they made their own casing but other than that, no parts are proprietary?

Dreamcore should be faster. I’ve purchase from Aftershock on 29 April and desktop is still not here. I was contemplating between Dreamcore and Aftershock too but jump on the gun to aftershock since I stay at towner. I assume it Would take 2 weeks based on the conversation but i was wrong. Wanted to enjoy my games during my wfh period but unfortunately it’s not gonna happen. Will review again for their after sales service and also will try Dreamcore once my warranty is over.

what resolution is your monitor? if u say not really into gaming, assuming ur running a 1080p screen a 1650 super should suffice, no point spending more on a part u wont use a lot. actually, u can also consider systems with apus, amd integrated graphics can do some decent light gaming.

yes running 1080p. will stick with the 1650 super.

Disque PC

Understand that Aftershock has good pricing but their delivery for custom builds will take weeks.

Anyone has got any reviews for the other companies?

tried the 1st 3 on your list, but most either with long delays or no stocks, with the 3rd one being the worst imo, super slow responses, waited almost a week for them to reply me no stocks. went carousell for alternatives and found one which has quick response and the parts i wanted.

was initially skeptical but end up they got gd rep on caoursell and they're PC vendor themselves. got the setup 2 days later. intro'ed another friend who got his setup next working day. not affiliated to em but if u're comfortable with carousell alternative, do pm me.

i feel personally Aftershock had more variety than Dreamcore or Typhoon Systems. Maybe its because of the social distancing and import delays of several parts that many pc build shops have to limit the choices... in this period its quite understandable to have a delay no matter what. Other than Mansa's worrying customer service, i think as long as you researched all the different parts of the pc for the kind that you need, you'll find which custom build pc shop offers what you need.

I wonder if aftershock and dreamcore takes so long to send delivery, how long will it take them to repair or arrange deliveries for repairs.

I bought from armageddon, it was the cheapest for the spec back then and probably still is. They were also a bit more flexible.

But the ssd had some errors after a month. Contact armageddon, picked up next day Iirc. Returned day after. Down time was minimal, just one step from onsite fix.

I can't tell who uses the best or worst parts but can dreamcore or aftershock match the service?

Many other factors to consider as well. Sometimes distro do not have the replacement parts etc.

Cause 1 PC only make $80-$150, 3 years of support is fair. After 3 years if items are bought from local disti, you can try to RMA the items yourself.
