Estimate, or just pay more, they will refund you the difference. Ask the rental company to give you estimate of how big the tank is (ie how many gallons).

hmm...sometimes i use my own camera which is lumix FZ50 or my husband's which is lumix TZ10 or it could also be my very old konica revio.

if you are paying cash, you can just pay like USD50-60 for example...and pump till tank is full. and if the gas is not worth USD50, you just return to the cashier to get back your refund.

Has anyone used Hertz's pickup and return service?

Where are you renting from? If airport location, there will be bus services for pick up and drop off (or if smaller airport, rental facility might be next to airport)

Renting from hotels in the city.. By the way, how early should we arrive at the car rental location? If we get the car slightly earlier would we be billed extra?

Then how are you going to get from airport to hotel? Cab? Hotel shuttle? I normally rent from airport location, most convenient.

From my experience from renting in SF...if we rent at 9am, we must return at 9am the next day. That'll be considered as 1 day. If we return at 10am, its considered as 2 days charges. That was what I encountered anyway, but you better double check.

Great service from Hertz in LA too...when we returned our car, the back of the car was so full that we put the last row of seats down to put our luggage. Like 5 big luggage and a couple of small and hand carry. The Hertz guy saw our boot and offered to take over the wheel and drive to the airport which was about 8-10 minutes away. Great service. :)

Why not take the helicopter ride? :p

About 200+ usd. There's quite a number of discounted ticket counters in Vegas that offers great discount for food and such tours.

I paid 299usd, flew by Papilon. Flew pass Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, descended at the bottom of the Canyon and enjoyed a champagne brunch and flew back. Was about 4-5 hours long hotel to hotel. Driving will take up a lot of time...almost 1 whole day just for the trip.

Diddn't know that. Though I thought it was a kind gesture to drive us there even though there were those Hertz buses running every 10mins to the airport.
