Why not take the helicopter ride? :p

About 200+ usd. There's quite a number of discounted ticket counters in Vegas that offers great discount for food and such tours.

I paid 299usd, flew by Papilon. Flew pass Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, descended at the bottom of the Canyon and enjoyed a champagne brunch and flew back. Was about 4-5 hours long hotel to hotel. Driving will take up a lot of time...almost 1 whole day just for the trip.

oh we've already booked a lodge at grand canyon for 1 night :o intending to watch sunrise/sunset there so we're not intending to chiong back.

so when they come to my hotel to pick me up,is the car he's driving the car i will be given? So I could load all my luggage into the car,or I've to drive back to the hotel later on?

I booked 4 days in Kanab. Will not chiong back since it is around 3hrs from LV. Will try to visit 4 national parks.

Grand Canyon North Rim (bo lang one which is better), AZ
Bryce Canyon NP, UT
Zion NP with Kolob Canyon, UT
Horseshoe bend, Glen Canyon Dam and Page AZ

On the way back, hopefully can visit Valley of Fire State Park, NV.

ANA now got very good price. 1992 to SF or LA return. I booked Southwest for the flight from SF to LV. Very budget and good.

Hmm...$1992 very cheap meh? I thought recently SQ got promo $1998 or $1988 to LA return?

How much did you pay for SF-LV?

We will be driving from SF to LA (stopping at Atascadero for the night). We should be going to

1)Santa Cruz
2)17 mile drive
3) Carmel
4) Big Sur

Did I miss out anything? Should I go to half moon bay also, or just take 101 to Santa Cruz?

On the topic of LA to San Fran's drive.

Has anyone tried to drive thru Silicon Valley and look @ some of the bigger tech companies/Uni's before? Worth the time?

I am intending to spend 1 day from San Fran to probably Cambria, than the next from Cambria to LA

Mine is is booked as multitrip.

I land in SF but I will be flying back from Chicago.

SF to LV is USD154 for 2 person flying with Southwest.

Flight from LV to Chicago cost me SGD744 thereabouts.

Silicon Valley is just like any other US township. Not worth it.

I booked a night tour of the Alcatraz via Alcatraz Cruises.

www.alcatrazcruises.com

Took the later one that starts at 6.45 and will most likely take pics of SF and the Golden Gate Bridge at night.

Zzz. I diddn't book the tickets before hand. Reached SF, check still got quite a lot slots. Then wanted to just go there and book the next day when I go, all sold out. Even for the day trips. :(

I warned about this. That's why I booked in advance. My experience with the Fremantle Prison Night tour as well. While many people try to stay out of jail, tourists rush into them. :s13:

i'm going to LA in Sept for my wedding and so far i only book air tickets there.

Anyone can recommend me the hotels or itinerary? Going for 14 days. Plan 7 at LA and 7 at LV.

Been doing some research and so far plan is to visit Disneyland, Universal Studio, Grand Canyon and watch some magic show at LV.

Was thinking to drive from LA to LV at the same time, head to the factory outlet for shopping.

I think if you are going to the disney land and universal for the first few days, no nned to rent a car. Find a hotel that has free transport to Disney. I would but the 2 day park hopper pass as Disney is divided into 2 parts. See carefully before you buy the pass. 1 day is not enough if you want to take most of the rides. BTW, they have fireworks only on week end. Than another day at Universal Studio. It is much bigger and better than the singapore one. After the 3 days than get your car and drive around. You can go see the Chinese Theater where the famous actor/singer leaves their hand print.

Make your way to LV and you should be able to drop by the factory outlet on the way. As for magic show, unless you see those big names on TV like david Blair or david copperfield, dont border. They are not good. You better off buy tickets to see other famous act like musical or concert depends on what is on.

I suggest you end your trip at San Fran if you can change your ticket. Its good for shopping and you must go to the fisherman warth and try the soup (cannot remember the name)

Are you going to rent a car for the whole time you're there?

Which part of LA do you want to stay in? Hollywood? Beverly Hills? San Diego? Santa Monica? etc

Desert Hills Premium Outlets is good. There's also 2 premium outlets along the las vegas strip. 1 north 1 south. Go to the premium outlets website, sign up as a member for free and print the discount coupons they have for free online.

I caught David Copperfield in Vegas. Paid about 50% off the original price. Google for tix4tonight. They have like 10(?) booths along the strip and 1 in fremont street that have discounted tickets to movies/restaurants etc.

Do take the helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon!

addats: their fireworks is daily from what I know. that's what the hotel conceirge at holiday inn anaheim told me when I was there. went to disneyland on a wed and there was fireworks at night...

& yep you should squeeze in SF if you have the time. heh.
