1 for $1 and 1 for $2 durians. Good or no good? Instead of using your nose first, I would suggest to use your eyes.

Well what did I see? In particular, I saw lots and lots of hidden treasures within the stash. Lets start with one that easy to recognize and I must say taste pretty unique as it has a strong milky sweetness with little fibre. Not sweet like D13 or milky sweet like Gang Hai but sweet with a fragrant punch of vanilla essence.

What cultivar am i talking about? D2 aka Dato Nina, named after the princess of Malacca where this durian is first cultivated and registered.

Where else to get the best and most reliable information? The Department of Agriculture (DOA) Malaysia - </TITLE> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <STYLE type=text/css> BODY { FONT-WEIGHT: normal; FONT-SIZE: 20px; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica text-align:justify; background-color: #CCCCCC; } TD { FONT-WEI

A pity the main site for DOA is down, then you can see the true origins of the particular durian cultivar you are interested in, who registered it, at where and the many characteristics of the durian such as stem length, ease of opening the durian, seed size, flesh texture, taste and the list goes on and on.

Cheers and enjoy!

Hmmm im not sure is it me or what. But when i eat alot of organic ones, like really alot. I dont seem to be putting on much weight. But........ when i eat the commercial ones, can feel the difference leh. The same applies to sore throat and cough, I never had such issue when i eat the organic ones. No matter how much i wack haha. Maybe its because of the pesticides and whatever chemicals.

One day honest Durian supplier at Johor tells me, do you know how much chemicals they inject into the tree for that durian ?

durian is not about price, is about which supplier and how durian is planted.

Uh huh... they inject the tree, spray urea and other pesticides onto the trees.

When the fruit is reaching maturity, spray again. Thats why never ever smell a durian too much. Have first hand stories of sellers suffering from nose cancer as they inhale all the chemicals etc.

Also as I had mentioned before previous ly, when I eat lots of commercial durian I feel sick. But no mattee how much organic durian I eat, im perfectly fine with no bouts of sore throat or cough whatsoever. Hmmm foood for thought eh?

Do we need to make reservations if we are going as a small group to eat at either Sindy or Combat?

And which of them is the preferred one?
