Erm, this really need some trial and error.. But do take note once it is triggered, it will 'rest' for lik 5mins before back to standby mode waiting for triggering.

So u can't trigger it, adjust the placement n try trigger it within 2mins,it will not work den.

Thanks ! I managed to get a good placement at the side of the kitchen, so far so good. There is a delay of about 2-3 seconds upon entering the kitchen before the lights come on. . Perhaps I will try to stick it higher and see if makes a difference

Yes, I'm using S2, I lik the door sensor more. I placenone at my main door, set timing after 6pm... So now after work when back hm.. Opens the door, it will turn on my living.. Kitchen.. Bedrm lights and lamps... 👍

I tink u can try other WiFi door sensor.. Open door.. Connects to IFTTT App.. Then turn on broadlink lights, but tink may need to setup one by one.... U lik broadlink own S2.. Can easily setup the if-else integration.

Thank u for the reply. Do you use the s2 hub yourself? How do you find it?

Also, besides the 2 sensors that come with default package, what other sensors can we use in Singapore? I have a hard time finding official supported documentation from broadlink.

Qn - Will S1 motion sensor work with S2 hub? Online most are selling S1 motion sensors.

I will need a motion sensor at the main door instead of just the door sensor

My main door has the door sensor which when opened , activates my TC2 living room lights after 630 pm ( I love this sensor as the delay is like 1 s only). However this also means that if my family wants to go out of the house after 630 pm, the lights will turn on ( they may have switched off the lights before going out as per usual routine).

But If I have the motion sensor near the door, I can set the trigger such that if there is person detected, then lights (if on) can be set to be turned off when I open the door.

So 2 triggers -
IF 630 pm onwards and door open and no person detected inside house - turn on lights
IF anytime, door open and person detected at main door inside house - turn off lights

Edit: I realised this is only good if all family members leave house together ha ha... perhaps the best solution is that if there is just have one trigger.... if 630pm onwards and no person detected inside house - turn on lights. When leaving house, if all leaving together just say to google to switch off all lights.

Yes, S1 sensors actually all same, just that the main hub is different, so it will work I believe.

As for ur test cases, I tink lik u mentioned when ur hse hav many members maybe abit harder to implement.

For me, I leave my door open.. Gate locked. So on normal days by 6pm lights will auto come on... N if night i close door after 1130pm, it will initiate lights off... So far so good for me, cos I only closing door when about to slp so jus nice the functions work for me.

Motion Sensor triggered by Robot Vacuum

Robot Vacuum triggered my kitchen light to switch on when it went in just now :s13:
Means I also need to set trigger to switch off kitchen light when 'no person detected" for a certain amount of time I guess.

Oh is it? I think mine is set at 30 seconds but I didn’t time it exactly after setting.

There is a jumper switch inside the device that you can set to change the trigger "reset" time. I tried, it will change the time it takes to "reset" after a trigger. Search google image online for "Broadlink Motion Sensor Manual" for more details.

S2 Door Sensor Range

I ordered an additional door sensor and placed it at the master bedroom toilet door. Both my router and S2 hub are on the living room tv console. Normal 5 room hdb flat.

Unfortunately, cannot detect when the toilet door open when using e-control. When i bring the sensors nearer to the s2 hub by a few meters then can detect ... sigh, need to experiment with the placement of the hub I guess... ( or get a second hub)

You might want to give more details about your problem. Which app did you use to control your appliances? Did u use the GH app to load in your Broadlink account? I don't think you can command MiBox from GH directly since there are no setup box template supported in GH. But you can achieve it through routines which are not as flexible.

This is strange.. The sensor is using 433Mhz... The range will be much further than your 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz WiFi signals, which is good enough to cover a typical HDB apartment. Is there interference? Silence all your other sensors and ensure no other RF switches being activated and test again?

I placed the s2 hub at my study room, which is half the distance between the toilet door sensor and the main door sensor. Both works now.

Solution to Scenes intermittently not triggering when door sensor activated -

What I noticed for my case is that although I opened the bathroom door and on the e-control app it shows the door is opened , the trigger/Interaction to switch on bathroom light did not always happen.

Solution - I tried this and it works so far. In the “actions”section of the interaction, i put duplicate actions . ie switch on bathroom light twice instead of just one time.

Somehow this works.. Now the bathroom light will always switch on when I open the door without fail.
