Hi both,
im using rm pro3 with IHC app, to communicate to alexa.

Vixx, u can use the on/off switch of ur curtain to IHC tv template 'on' button.
after u done, first test the IHC newly created button to see if it works, before trying on Alexa. (please kindly refer to video below)

S750WP, yes, u need a physical remote to pair to ur yoogee switch, so that u can create a IHC tv template and learn the same signal on the physical remote, this will allow it to 'talk' to alexa.

otherwise another route is to use RM plugin on android device, to talk to Alexa, as for this route im not too sure as i nvr did before but i think some others are using it.

Are you successful to control the RF switches with Alexa by using the TV template with IHC app?

Hi S750WP, yes! Of course.

My Alexa can be used to turn on/off below items using IHC tv template via rm pro3, such as..

Livolo RF switches,
RF plugs
Fanco ceiling fan (RF remote control)
RF mechanical Lift (RF remote Control)
TV
StarHub cablebox
Aircon

Not sure if you all know already

My setup is the RM Plus, Echo Dot, Home Mini, iPhone

After realizing I can’t control RF devices with Alexa and RM Plus and iPhone, I bought a Home Mini. I could not trick a TV Remote to learn RF signals.

I created the User Defined Remote in the IHC app instead. As an added step I created scenes for each button. Eg Fan High, Fan Off, Light off.

I’m using the Fanco Fan RF controlled.

I realized that scenes on the RM Plus show up on Google Assistant, not the mapped devices themselves. Thus I’m able to use voice control via Home Mini.

The IHC TV template works only the Yoogee switch I am not able to learn the signal.

Can I affirm you bought a remote to learn the RF signal from your RF wall switch. Then point the remote to rm pro to learn

I am using a RM Pro plus no issue to use Alexa

Yes, u need a physical remote pair to ur rf wall switch, to be learnt by ihc tv template.... Then.... U can use Alexa on ur rf wall switch. :s13: The workaround.

That's if taking the IHC route to Alexa.

CHUANGCHENG
CHUANGSHENG

Hmm found this link from xenocide, you guys have any idea where it's from? :s11:

I’m using Google Home + IHC now.
New IHC not able to learn RF on Lamp category. Only IR.
For YooGee, I bought the extra RF remote and learn the RF on IHC user defined group.
Then create scene for xx lights. But can only say “Hey google, turn on the xx lights but can’t say turn off the xx lights cause it is scene.
Need to create another name for off scene and say “on this xx scene” to off the lights.
Only using lamp category can say the on/off without creating any scene.
Tested with another IR LED on it.
Also added Chromecast Ultra to playback YouTube and Spotify. Plus it will control my 9Y.O Philips TV using HDMI CEC. Nice!

Overall the solution working fine but not perfect. But it is most cost effective smart home system. Happy with it! :)

Actually you should have get Google home rather Alexa . Google Home can discover lamp and scene that u created in ihc. Alexa only discover TV in ihc.

Thanks for prompt reply. I've already created a TV template for TC2 but the problem is how to get the app learned the on/off command unless I have a separate remote controller.

I have tried Siri , Alexa and Google.
The best home automation intergration goes to Google and Alexa.
The best responsive and very personalise goes to Google
Best third party skills intergration goes to Alexa .

Siri .. sighz ..

What skills you guys used most of the time?

Hi Dee7777, awesome.. . . great u tried different one and feel the differences & sharing here, i already have 3 echoDots, guess will just stay put with it, not going to try Google Home, however i did try play ard with Google-Assistant via HP to control, not too bad.... and yes, i think response-wise, Google is still better.

Hello DinoSnowWolf, yes... glad u too have ur things fixed up and enjoying it. Ya, agreed Alexa - IHC combi is not perfect, but at least it's cheap working alternative , happy with it too!

I tested both my Android and iOS and found android more seamless with google home and ihc. Control created in ihc very fast updated on google home control skill.
Control created in iphone 6S Plus will appear in my old Samsung A7 but created in A7 not sync with iPhone. Sad. :(
Control created in iPhone IHC also very slow update into google home skill. Hope the IHC sync issue between android and iPhone can be resolved soon. Looks like Android phone best for IHC and google home. Next upgrade is replacing my iPhone with Android for complete google eco system. :)

Anyone have any idea why suddenly my alexa keep saying “XX device is not responding”?

I am using the rm pro to control my fan, tv and aircon.

About 2-3 weeks back, alexa refused to help me turn on my fan. I tried to reinstall the skills / log in but still not working.

When I use the IHC app, I can turn on / off those devices via my phone. So all the devices are working properly. Just not via Alexa.

Happen sometimes to me, because I reverse the command ie turn off aircon and turn aircon off will result in Alexa not responding. So I tried to be consistent with Turn Off/On follow by electrical appliance name.

I feel google home better than Alexa in terms of voice recognition. If I tell Alexa to Turn On Aircon, most of the time it can't execute as it can't figure out Aircon. Also for lights if I say Turn on lights it will not respond, it will only respond if I change it to turn lights on. All my command work with Turn on/off followed by the appliance name only for light it reverse.
