Our haul from yesterday. I’m thinking whether it’s worth it to upgrade my SP2 to SP4 for the night light function for my son’s bedroom. Any experts here have review of the new SP4?

Is RM pro 4 the latest version to get if I need RF? Or any other recommendations for RF?

SP4L should be the newer version. Afaik, the one upgrade is the Fastcon addition. Something to do with an app-less one time connection And setup. And where subsequent devices need not setup in your home.
The other upgrade is the nightlight that’s faces down.

Here’s some info on it:

try the latest Broadlink app?
it connects to US servers i think
i had no problems with accessing over 4G then
(side note: there are 3 apps now for Broadlink. eControl, IHC and now Broadlink)

Don't know if anyone notice the newest version of the app they have somehow fixed fan controls. Now you don't need scenes to control your fan devices, you can control them properly via Google home on/off command. This is a huge deal! Removed all my scene and routines for my small ceiling fan, can control properly now.

Okay thanks for the link. It was useful! I haven’t watched Paul Botak in a while since I completed my home automation set up. His videos are still as informative as ever.

My KDK fan still can add button.
PaabneM.jpg

For context, my fan is IR and I’m using custom lamp template. I recommend you migrate your stuff to Broadlink app.

Its weird. I could add the buttons on my other phone but can't on my current. But able to access them on my current phone.

Migrating means I have to re add again all the button:eek:

Tc2 is ok .. Just that the new switches tc2s rf codes cannot be read. I wonder if the rf signal are further encrypted. Unfortunately, seller doesn’t support 3rd party automation ie home assistant

They can be read. I am using the bond bridge to control the tc2s just fine.

My controls and triggers populated over to the new app. You have to sign into their Broadlink account though.

It's a similar device with better RF implementation as it is able to replicate rolling codes which is crucial to control my somfy motors. The RM pro is only able to broadcast fixed frequency.

Nice. Honestly, the commercial IoT space is too cluttered with companies making their own proprietary hub. Was reading a bit on Hass but Broadlink addition require some tinkering.

Anyone manage to install their MKS1 set?

Hi All, I understand that if the motor is encrypted Broadlink willl not be able to control it.
My blinds Motors Branding is “Nice” from Italy. Remote using RF and Freq at 433.92. Broadlink RM Pro can detect the frequency, however it will not work thus I believe that the motor itself is encrypted.
However I just realise that the motors I am using is not those built in type of receiver. It uses separate receiver. Thus can I check that if I were to change to a different brand of separate receiver and remote, will broadlink works?

Opinion needed, thanks!

Initially i thought of using broadlink RF switches, but many are suggesting to use wifi or zigbee switches and have neutral wire pulled to all the switches. This will incur more cost and the wifi switches are also around $150 one switch and broadlink is only bout $25 lol, for those using broadlink smart switches, any issue in terms of reliability and usage? i plan to have some home automation but probably more to simple automation only.

Think the biggest problem is when your Home internet link is down, there will be no way to control it via your phone. Albeit, you can still control manually. If broadlink goes down in flames, your investment are as good as paperweight.

I’ve yet to find a simple cheap solution where it allows local, no external server connection. Ironic statement since it’s called the Internet of Things. Lol.
