Just ordered one wifi-to-go P-420 from them for 12 days, to be sent to our hotel in Osaka.

They claimed the battery life can go last whole day for most of the users but for continuous usage, should last 6 hours as they put in a larger battery. I won't count on it though. Going there to buy a rechargeable battery tank just in case. It comes with a USB charging cord (I think may come with a charger plug) so one can charge on the go. I hope 2 tanks should be able to support our phones and wifi device.

If you are interested to order/rent one, do it early as by looking at the deadline, one needs to order 2 weeks in advance.

@Jep: The WIFI-to-go is like a mini hotspot, the sim is inside the device as as long as your phone has wifi connection, you can use. And you can set password for it as well.

It can connect up to 5 devices. If you have that many devices, I suggest you do a rough calculation on how much data you are going to use, before deciding getting the unlimited or 1GB ones.

Japan Wireless is cheaper @ ¥5,950 [¥5,450 + ¥500 shipping] with a free spare battery

Yeah slightly cheaper. Wow and they have the LTE version.

Anyway, using the device for couple of days already. Quite satisfied. It also comes with a spare Panasonic external battery. But I just plug it into my own external. 14 hours of usage and still have 60% juice left

Another option is globaladvancedcomm Rental Mobile Wifi Mifi Pocket Wifi in Japan, Portable Wifi Mifi router access point:: Global Advanced Communications , I could not comment on speed though, I only use facebook (upload pictures), LINE, whatsapp and Google Maps. I didn't feel it's slow but YMMV.

This ya old news
Dron telco
Those 15 to 20$ per day unlimited
Use this as a last resort since getting Jp data sim still the cheapest vs our local data roam package

Before sT was $15 but they have upp the $$ to $20

So now m1 & sh still $15 per day unlimited

Hi,

Am using the econnect 300k now. Speed is relativeky good, good enough for me. But am in Yokohama now so maybe thats why, becos in the city. Will let u know when i am in the Kyushu countryside.

It's essentially bmobile's u300, using the ntt docomo network, without the hassle of activation.
