Wow that is slow. My location was in Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe and Nara.

At times, you may want to reboot the device. I got something like this (slow connection, but didn't check for speed), went OK after I rebooted the device.

I didn't take the mifi, I used my note to tether but so far it's only good to whatsapp. Will try again tomorrow when i continue my tokyo trip. The way it's happening I think the 1gb lte is a better choice instead.

He would activate it on his phone first, then come back SG and pass it to me to activate it on my phone when I go Japan the week after but well within 30 days.

i got the 300kb/s portable router and the speed is really damn slow. Didn't think it was worth it. A lot of times no singal also in Tokyo, have to constantly reset.

Either get the higher speed one or change the operator.

i got the b-mobile 1GB, didn't measure the speed but seems to be fast like local telco. But...I blew the usage cap 1GB within 5 days. So the rest of my trip was without data plan and everything goes back to the old fashion way. Funnily though, the paper-and-do-my-homework-one-night-before-way worked fine

Ahhhh! I am supposed to share with my fren a 1GB eConnect Data SIM card (30 days) as our travels fall within the time duration. My fren had retrieved the Data SIM card and used it, however, he accidentally throw away the instructional booklet. Can I check if the VPN settings for eConnect is the same for all users? My fren mention something bout a User ID and Password, any idea if it is indicated differently for all Data SIM card?

If the VPN settings are standard for all users, then not too much an issue, since I can follow direct settings but I am not too sure bout the User ID and Password. I am trying to get my fren to email in to request if they can resend the instructions or User ID and Password but not too sure if this can be done.
