I am warning you people. The housing quality here is terrible... Plenty of houses from 1900s still standing

The whole Perth city smells of PISS . ngl

The attraction of living in Perth (compared to SYD&MEL) is its proximity to Bali (IND) and Asia...

infrastructure in this country is f*ked. In Mel, we dont have a train to airport yet..

AU has a car-dependent infrastructure, you need to drive pretty much everywhere

15% surcharge is too much le...I pay by cash to avoid the card surcharge

Yes, more individualism here. Drugs and mental health issues rampant
Can go be construction worker and improve their housing quality there lahhh. Get ur PR!!

Perth city >> A lot of drunkards there. If late at night, best not to go outside.

Perth is more of retirement city, but not much to do. It's good for those that are used to waking up each day living routine lifestyle. But if want more action, asia is still better for retirement. Not a big issue for me, since I am not looking too much into action.

Infrastructure >> Good if you don't mind the lack of convenience. At the same time, less construction noise there too, since not so much upgrading.

Community >> The bad ones are terrible, but the average folk is alright to me. Generally more hospitable than in Sg.

Vic just did a 190 invite around today

ICT all 100 pointers

Its a cycle mate. Just after elections = easier. Nearer to elections tighten up...
Politics 101
The easiest time to get an invite for PR was just after Labour won the elections.
Yes...Ppl need to understand the link between elections & invitation points

Just came back from holiday, SG and Kor.. felt like i came back to a 3rd world country.. waited for over 30mins before could disembarked, then realised there were no aerobridge available.. still need to walk down stairs and take a bus..

Immigration Q like queuing for michelin star restaurant, not to mention the border security checking on your luggage, all in all, took over 2hrs from the plane landed to stepping outside of the airport.

The saving grace from all these was walking into 12 deg weather.

Contrary to this, when landing back in SG, just walked through immigration like a boss without even scanning passport.

am in Perth .. went around . most housing sucks. looks like landed slums.
in fact Northridge hasn't changed much since 20+ years ago..

everywhere got pee smell, buildings look old..some are empty and look as bad as JB ulu areas.

got a few friends staying here , decent places are not cheap. CDB areas or next to casino min is $1m+ for 1-2 bedder and $2m+ for 3 or 4.

most people here drive cheap cars. Asians are the ones driving Porsches and BMWs. but plenty of old WRXs and supras type that have loud exhausts.

go casino , most people only bet $1 to $2.5 Aud. Singapore , majority bet $8.80.

my conclusion, majority of Australians are not rich at all. quite jialat.
don't think I can ever move here to retire.

boring place. good for people who have no purpose in life type , just want to relax and do nothing in life type.

cheap ? yes , some ulu place , house looks like crap type.. sure can find. not near good schools. everywhere need to travel 45 mins.

then realised here got simi weekend , public holiday surcharge like 15% when eat outside.

also many people here are low ses behaviour. think they very rowdy.

Bye bye...

hope you have a good life in Oz...

another sinkies sailing away....

Look like soon or later more and more sinkies are leaving.....sighssss :cry::cry:

My life is pretty good here. I work long hours, but at least I am fairly compensated for overtime, which is a luxury that many of my counterparts in Singapore or other developed countries do not enjoy.

I found out that the docs on roster can't take leave as and when they like, and the rosters are planned well in advance.. is that true?

Changi airport is a transit airport with much higher traffic volume... My experience with MEL airport aint too bad. Can clear within 1hr.. No bag check and have e gate for SG passport holders

Changi T3 has 2 side for immigration and 99% no Q.

For Melb, I think also depends on timing, when I landed, few other int. flights also landed..

The e-gates are damn slow and not all are operational, also first you need to get that dumb eticket thing.

So happy for you that you are settling well!!!! Congrat on your NEW life and NEW freedom!!!

:):):):)

Yes, Australia has fair wages and a good remuneration policy, and workers' rights! They also have STRONG worker unions to fight for your rights too.

Unlike certain shiat hole country, where you need to be cheaper, faster and better. Worst of all, pay you 3rd world remuneration and you need to have shalf it down in your throat even though u are so unhappy!

Many of my peers and those who I know have slowly, "quietly" left over the past 15yrs....

If you are free, you can look up @Heriophant lor as he is in Melbourne.
