I was eyeing some apartments in Cockburn Central, 2bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and 1 car slot, and located beside the train station and mall, for about AUD350K last year. I thought it was a good buy for an investment property, given that the rental yields there are about 450pw.

Now it's more like 450k with yield of 550-600.
But I did a brief calculation..... why not just fixed deposit

WA is very shiok. I drive to see Indian ocean any time I want to. I can drive to Albany. I can drive to Fremantle eat sea food. I can go Northbridge eat dimsum, more tastier than Singapore dimsum. I can go monkey Mia swim with dolphins.

Belmont too many crack house recent years and violence. Will avoid that area after the recent violent cases even against police.

Last time when I was there, locals will throw stones at glass of oriental shops because it operates long hours and takes away the local shops that closed at 5pm.

Actually I didnt even consider my PR when buying my house, nor was I aware of the penalty for foreigners.

So I guess it wasnt a factor for me.

For some reason, there are alot of methheads in WA. So many people on meth behind the wheel on the freeways.

So far I have only tried Canton Lane, Canton Bay, Fortune Five, and Little China Girl (now closed). The best is Canton Lane.

I wanted to try Silks at The Crown, but the price and the limited variety offered was prohibitory.

WA police slacking. Need to join the community groups so they helped out to keep a look out of weirdos.

I heard they do not have enough staffing to enforce the law.

The roads here are so dangerous cause there is no one to enforce the traffic laws. For example, there is no speed camera on the Mitchell Freeway, and everyday you see some bogan drive 130kmh on a 100kmh stretch of road. And the way they change lane is so crazy.

The drivers are Sydney are less courteous, but are more defensive and competent than these reckless fools on Perthian roads.

i heard pearl river at morley is not bad, haven't tried it yet. also imperial court at como is pretty decent as well

The only place I have been to in Morley is Conventry Village for all the Asian groceries!

I normally eat around the CBD/Northbridge/East Victoria Park because I live in the CBD.

I honestly think it will go back down in the next few years once mining collapses in WA, and when the inevitable recession hits.

130kmh on 100kmh road is not bad.
