Hi, anyone knows whether is there a minimum period to stay subscribed before can port out? My wife’s line was ported to eight just about 2-3 weeks ago but has been facing lousy reception at her office. Previously with giga and was ok. So now need to port her out. Thinking of going to zym.
30 days. Can port out after they charge for the 2nd month.

when my free trial expires on 28th Oct and I have $16 in wallet,
does it recharge automatically to $8 plan?
or do I have to log in acct to manual trigger recharge?

Not auto. You've to change plan and check your auto recharge setting.

Yay! My plan successfully recharged:

You have just purchased Double Eight Plan! Your plan is good to go until 02/11/24. Your receipt number is XXX. Payment Amount: $8

I have been worrying if something might go wrong and my account would get suspended

Would be hilarious if they dropped price to $6.88 and $16.88 respectively.

on a serious note, i posted an FR (field report) about my commute from work to home yesterday 02 Oct 2024 around 7pm ish on EWL eastern most to end of the tunnel station. It is the golden hour for data network to be non-responsive. yesterday's commute was quite bad to the point that I had to switch data to Simba. Yes, above ground also bad. Underground also bad.

I was back to work after 2 weeks hiatus, and the data performance really deteriorated.

as mentioned by @tanchoo1 , he mentioned that there are many of us using Eight, thus implying eight is good, maybe he does not use commute the way that I do.
You get the idea, eight can be great for someone like him because of different profile of commuting, workplace, and place of residence. Conclusion, you give it a try at your own risk see if eight works for you.

At your own risks because of the followings:
1. Multiple port-in failures. One of our member here has no service for close to two weeks and he resorted to Simba for temporary data needs.
2. Data performance deteriorated after COMEX. Many people signed up. Thus, causing the network to be very congested like Singtel where you have full signal strength but no internet connection.
3. Many of us are unable to receive International SMS. This is bad for me because I have overseas banking account, thus I have resorted to use my SIMBA number for the handphone number to receive SMS OTP.
4. My area sometimes network just dropped, completely no signal then it will come back again after a minute or two. This is annoying.

but too bad, I topped up until Christmas 2025 due to shopee (poison) top-up promo.

Dun just come in here and expect us to give you a hard-and-fast Yes or No.

I suggest you do some research first, which all of us did.
Wait for Eight to buy more BW from Starhub. $8 plan means Eight need to cut some corners in order to survive.

That will be a logical move from their side.

Some posts suggested giga is better on the same location.
Not sure how that happened.

According to the Eight's FAQ, can just head down to their service centre to swap the PSIM to eSIM, currently, without charges.

Any idea if the other way around, from eSIM to PSIM - any charges?

Depends on which of the two service centres you are going.
lucky plaza charges $8 lamenting the need of cash to run business.
ubi does not charge.
