mine is heya, so it's monthly ownself toup. hmm if i start porting out a week before expiry, there will be alot of data, sms left. but thats the balance. nothing else

i been using for 1 year already, so shouldnt have issues i hope

If you opt for Singpost delivery of physical SIM, it will take 3 - 5 working days, assuming no delays.

Is one week before expiry enough? I think you're cutting it too close.

am i right to say, actually it doesnt matter when i port-in , since the actual porting takes place when i hit activation?

otherwise from the time i online port-in at their webpage, to the time i receive the simcard, there's nothing happening actuallly? it's only after i receive the simcard, i activate it, this is when real work is done?

Correct.

If you don't already have the physical SIM, you can't activate the card. The activation requires activation code sent to you via Email and SMS, and also you will need to scan the bar code on the SIM card.

So the most important question is, when will you get the physical SIM card; everything starts from the day of activation.

Oh and try to activate your eight SIM card latest by afternoon. Coz if you activate it later than that, the porting in probably won’t start during the night of the same day

Also, if you opt for delivery of physical SIM card but don’t receive it, just go to Ubi service centre and request for it there and activate it there

Based on what I have seen here, you can get it done at the retailer, but pray harder, a lot harder.
And noticed that they say go ubi, not lucky plaza ?

usually port in happens same day as activation around 10-11pm and completes by next day, provided you activate in afternoon

These are plans you subscribe with a local telco, benefits are renewed monthly. You will get 1GB monthly.

Don't confuse with travel esim which is one off purchase.

Understand is per month renewal but if let say example, travel to Jap/SKorea, 1GB will not be enough for 7days right?

depends how you use. If you just use for maps and messaging then should be enough. If you use social media, like facebook , tiktok and instagram, might not be enough.

If you need more asia data, i'll suggest simba as it comes with international roaming, and excess data are chargeable at $0.40/100MB.

If u need to receive sms otp from ur local number, better to buy additional roaming allowance.

if you don’t OR your phone got esim or a spare physical SIM card slot, buy a local esim or physical SIM at destination which is usually cheaper.

a travel sim can never be cheaper than local sim.

Ultimately, for most of us, it is the price.

You need to do your due diligence a lot lah bro, comparing prices, weighing pros and cons.
