To change to $8/month, can just do change plan from the web login then top up main wallet or need to go down to service center? Now on 88GB, want to switch to 188GB, not looking to port in, want to continue using the number.

Yes, can change plan and topup from web login.

I just did the same after my free 88 days ran out.

Ordered port-in online and selected SIM delivery to my house. It's been more than a week, and I have yet to receive the SIM. I emailed Eight support last Friday, but there's no reply. My current telco will start charging for the new cycle in the next few days, and I doubt I'll have enough time to even activate the online port.

What should I do next? There's no hotline support to call, and I don't want to waste a trip to their service center without a guaranteed resolution.

Guys I want to check with u on the paid plans ($8 or $18).

If say my plan ends on say 28th or 29th and I wish to delay until 1st of next month to top up the plan and I am not expecting on using the line during these few days, can I delay the top up?

Will the line still be able to receive calls and sms during the intermediate period?

  • What happens if I do not renew my plan?
    • If you miss the date to renew your plan, you can renew it the next day. Simply do it on eight account or visit our retailers/ service centre.
    • At your plan expiry, the plan will go into a grace period of 60 days. During which you can receive SMS and notification to recharge. After 60 days, you will continue to receive SMS, however all unused wallet credit will be forfeited.

Eight advised to proceed to do SIM card self pickup if the SIM card is undelivered after the 3-5 working day timeframe.

Port In:
  • Sunday 10AM: Applied for port-in from ZYM to eight online. Picked up and activated the new SIM card at Toa Payoh 88 Connection Shop.
  • Monday: No SMS or updates received.
  • Tuesday 6AM: Old SIM stopped working. Swapped in the new SIM card, but could only receive OTPs using the temporary number.
  • Tuesday 10AM: Received SMS confirming successful port-in. Able to log in and receive OTPs with the old number.
Testing:
  • Indoors Speeds: Download at 40Mbps, Upload at 0.5Mbps.
  • IDD Test: Successfully made an international IDD call from Singapore to Malaysia, using a separate quota from local calling.

I managed to get my free line terminated over email within 3 hours of sending it, surprised they were so efficient after all the feedback here.

I'm quite disappointed with Eight's lousy service. Ordered online port-in, and the SIM hasn't been delivered after more than a week. Emailed them last Friday, and still, there's no response with email follow up.

I have something to report.

I wanted to sign up at an eight retailer, but after trying to do the sign up, the retailer told me that each customer can have only up to 2 lines, including the 2 free lines I have.

I will have to either cancel one of the free lines or just do direct port in to one of these lines.

Limited 2 lines per NRIC? That's a known fact from way back already...

perhaps you want to try singtel? pay $25++ confirm will have good excellent service:p
you are paying $8 and what kind of service you are expecting? even simba, if message them via fb messengers, also take few days to reply
In. Your. Dreams.

I've had my fair share of nonsense from ST too. Same for Simba, SIM card didn't arrive after 5 working days, eventually stopped replying to email.

Best is just to opt for SIM card pickup.

But I did not know that this even applies to the paid plans.

I thought the limit was for having 2 free lines at most.

Yeah, or just go to the service centre to do porting, just like me as it is my mainline.
Done at 530pm and by 1025pm successfully port over

Even simba, I text them via FB messenger on some issue, they also take few days to reply.
It is normal, unless paying $20++ plan, like my previous SH, i call them direct, phone support
