has anyone ported into eight from circles life? my port out was blocked and when i called circles, they tried to coax me into not porting out and offered me more gb data, roaming and free 1 month. i told them decision made to go with eight and they released the number for port out. then i tried to email eight cust service but no reply. also dropped a comment on their fb page and no response there as well
Now you've to contact Eight to process your port-in request again. If it's delayed, it's not Eight's incompetence but your bad luck for choosing a lousy sneaky provider previously. Rejoin the port-in queue.

report to IMDA. this is not unethical.
Exactly! IMDA should be informed of such an unethical practice!

Pathetic 😕

I seriously believe mvno got retention KPIs/target or commission. Been hearing lots of donor Telco cock blocking users from porting out (I suspected Vivifi also but they claimed system down didn't want to admit lol) They asked me what can they do to retain me, but wasn't too aggressive and I was too firm.

they sent me this email first and when i phoned them the CSR tried to pursuade me 3 times to stay on the CL network. if they didnt block the port out, ill be a full fledged member of Eight rite now. sigh. still awaiting a reply from Eight. just minutes after this email was in my inbox, i got an sms on my temp Eight number saying the port in has failed. geez :sneaky:

That's strange, Vivifi didn't contact me when I initiate the porting to Eight.

Yes by right the telco won't contact one. Circles life like next level haha
I have lodge a complaint to IMDA. 2 times port in request still failed. Vivifi say my NRIC id is correct. So is eight problem. They should do system integration test before doing business. Cannot let customer go and liaising between telco. This is unacceptable. Furthermore, the customer service only email and non responsive. Ridiculous

You are right. Either vivifi or eight have problem but as a end user we shouldn't go and liaising between telco for their technical issue. Already filed a complaint to IMDA anyway.

Wow this is really too much. I think they're not supposed to do this. I have never seen any other telco do it so far.

All of my port outs have been completed without the donor telco attempting to stall the process. This means that Eight will need to trigger the port-in again which will cause more delays and hassle.

This is very unethical.

Not cool, Circles.Life.

i can't remember which thread i saw it, perhaps the circles thread, that the app has a setting to "lock" the account and prevent port-out.

it was reported that you have to first disable this setting before initiating porting out.

That's the problem we as consumer shouldn't do all these. We are not their IT people, how to we know which party is wrong. Just guess here guess there. Waste of time doing the email

Initially I gave vivifi benefit of doubt, supposed to port to zero1 both time failed. Then I thought ok zero1 cmi. I changed to eight. Also 2 times failed. 5th time gone thru coz vivifi system finally up.

If u not sure u shudnt put the blame on eight only, report vivifi also if you haven't.

Ah, so possibly a user problem then?

I wonder if this "lock" setting is turned "on" by default for new vivifi customers.
