Just now went to retail to get eight new line for my helper (no need port in).

Staff told me all SG numbers are now recycled. For all telcos across whole of Singapore. No more new unused number.

Hope previous owners don't go and create accounts like shoppee, Lazada etc.

So better to port in if have existing number.

My helper say her current M1 Maxx sim card (applied 3 mths ago) seems someone using it. The WhatsApp profile photo shows a picture of a male.

And strangely I could not call, SMS or Whatsapp her. She also could not call, SMS and Whatsapp me. Can only use data. Previous shop I brought her to topup M1 Maxx also don't know why. Say phone problem not sim card problem.

Just now I insert the eight card and could call and SMS her eight number.

When free need to figure out how to change Whatsapp profile. Now still showing the old M1 Maxx and the guy's photo

Yes. Now there is no new release of numbers. I remember the last batch of new numbers that were released was by Giga. That time, the numbers that were released was 888x, 88x8 xxxx. If I'm not wrong, there were 87xx xxxx too.

But now every mvno or mno you see, all the numbers are rojak, because people port here port there and left.

unless you work in imda or mno number bidding department, i dont think this will be a clear picture
plus they still can issue new number range or from other small provider that gotten number for other company use (seen before other small company owning such range from old imda number list that can be found on google)

not to mention, they could also hoard spare number allocation yet to be release

unless u work in mobile store, just like grab driver, they might get incentive and reseller rate
if not why mobile shop or even 7-11 does reload etc?

find a mobile shop boss and ask about their cut from the supplier?

imagine u buy item a at various store islandwide, obviously they have to get below rrp, if not how they earn?

this might depend on the device in use and the gui able to select?
try to provide the model see if online can find any good info on the gui?
did u try to hotspot to the device and test the gui on laptop?

I can’t find that selection on the hotspot. So far I used it in SG and it works. I don’t know about JB. I presume if the device don’t allow us to select auto roam, then it wont work?

do u know of router gui?
mifi also should have gui and also know how to access gui?
so u can play with the setting with gui (same as my previous reply)
but if this is not even there, thats another story

similar to mobile, data roaming option might need to be enabled in gui
the secondary control in short

My experience for kddi at Osaka was phone with Snapdragon cpu ok (mi note 10), mediatek (xm 13T) or Exynos cpu (Samsung A7) cannot, also check that your phone can receive all the kddi 4g bands. Not sure which provinces you went.

All using xm or Samsung

For simba, I think I saw connected to softbank on my mum's phone in Jan 2024, but chk simba website now using kddi, i was using her phone (Redmi note 9T) from airport till hotel.
yeah I tried connecting to KDDI at Nagoya on Nothing phone 2. very bad. My husband on giga (Docomo) no issue. thanks for sharing your experience.

i had issues with kddi while on simba. if eight uses same kddi, maybe thats why you also facing issues. however there were users that had no issues with kddi roaming. maybe we just unlucky.

good to have a different sim instead of relying on one if travelling. m1 maxx uses softbank and roaming was smooth for me in japan.
yeah when I tried to manually connect to Rakuten it doesn't work. only KDDI works intermittently. Maybe this is the issue (unlucky). thanks for sharing!
