If making a call to a Singapore mobile number in China, is this phone call counted as "local" or "IDD"?

anyone switch to eight on iPhone then restart phone it says iMessage failed, waiting for activation…eight don’t support something or missing some carrier settings ?

I tried switching on and off the iMessage and has not been able to make it work from Eight. Does eight allows sending international sms.
Using eight and iMessage works fine on mine.

singapore to oversea = idd
treat is as free idd call or in the olden day by MNO idd call at singapore local rates to selected country when u got the idd vas

https://www.eight.com.sg/faq-network-roaming-and-idd
  • How do I make IDD calls?
Easy! Just key in the country code, followed by the phone number. For example, an IDD call to Malaysia, just press +60 and followed by the phone number.

This clearly inform to oversea friend
not oversea call sg ( 2 different equation)
this is also found on the next pointer of faq on my above reply

unless they treat idd differently
otherwise idd is similar to the olden day

idd code only works when u call from singapore to oversea by using idd prefix to get discounted rate if you have use it before in the olden days

thus base on faq and the olden day idd prefix, u cant mix singapore to oversea idd as the reverse way ( 2 way traffic), when its a 1 way traffic only

as it doesnt fall under example of idd call
this fall under roaming call

which come to the volte and the peering partner which is heavily discussed
due to this innovative part, many say it is ok, but then due to non clear and concise faq, see who else can answer u
but other than eight and yourself, i would say, everything is not as clear as your previous idd question which is a concise answer

singapore to oversea = idd dialing for discounted rate

oversea to singapore is roaming call, didnt really try that alot

the most traditional method is +65 91234 5678
if you dial 91234 5678, it either connect to singapore if your phone setting is self pick up or engage tone due to incorrect format base on the country you are at

Can I check with u guys?

Is it the case that plan renewal is automatic as long as there is sufficient balance in the wallet?

Ensure "Auto-Recharge" under "Billing" is turned on.
Actually I want the opposite.

So if I turn off that option, when my plan expires say on Day 1 can I like wait for 2 or 3 days before buying another plan using the balance in my wallet?

  • What happens if I do not renew my plan?
    • If you miss the date to renew your plan, you can renew it the next day. Simply do it on eight account or visit our retailers/ service centre.
    • At your plan expiry, the plan will go into a grace period of 60 days. During which you can receive SMS and notification to recharge. After 60 days, you will continue to receive SMS, however all unused wallet credit will be forfeited.
IIRC the one manual renewal I did was via deduction from wallet.

MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) will bill you first once you sign up and activated your line.
It depends on the MVNO.

For example of my experience:

- Simba will bill in advanced. When terminated, no further payment required.

- redOne will bill at the end of the month. When port-in that time they will collect advanced payment from you first but the money will stay in your account. At the end of first month they will charge you pro-rated based on how many days since activation till end of the month. So after termination, you will need to pay for the last month.
