5G is useful when outdoors and inside malls, indoors still have to rely on 4G

Eight 4G is still better (when it is not congested) than circles,
at my regular non-mall supermarket, I can use mobile payments with Eight but not with circles
circles is 4g or 5g?

Rather than being rejected, I suspect Eight was slow to release the line thus the "rejection".

Don't know what's wrong with Eight's service and help desk lately... Something similar happened to me the other time and I'm already in the midst of porting or terminating my spare lines with them.
May i know how did you resolved it in the end?

Since M1 and SH shared the 5G infra .. isn't it cheaper to get Max 5G plan instead?

my circles is 5g but it often falls to 4g indoors
I have already terminated and now using eight 5g

they share 5g network but 4g is separate
Eight 4g is definitely better when it works but can often be congested at high density places

when it works is very grey area ..lolz anyway usage is very much dependant on a user expectations

Didn't. Just canceled the porting, will do it again later. Anymore problem I'll think about looking at IMDA for help.
Thanks.... went down to the Eight service centre, they didnt manage to do anything. Ask me to wait for email.

My friend on Eight 5G plan but most of the time can't get 5G signal outdoor except at bus interchange, malls and MRT station.
Indoor eg home only 4G+
So it may not be worthwhile to upgrade unless one need the additional data roaming quota

Some people topped up their Eight wallets with a 1-to-1 match, and that means the $14.80 per 30 days plan is effectively costing them $7.40. (And the $8 plan $4, the $5 senior plan $2.50, etc.) These arrangements are all more attractive than Maxx's $12 5G plan.

That's what I thought, so didn't bother to visit a service centre. Max they can do is help to feed back, but if office wants to delay then there's nothing they can do also.

Indeed it may depending on the location and usage patterns to see whether eight 5G is better or CL 5G is better.

CL 5G can be at as low as S$6.7 or S$8 per month with the promotion codes, comparable to eight S$14.8 per month 5G users who got the one for one top-up offer (effective price at S$7.4 per month).

M1 4G network: less coverage but less congested
StartHub 4G network: better coverage but more congested (at least for eight 4G users).

Still eight 5G have better roaming benefits compared to CL S$6.7 and S$8 5G plan. CL 5G S$8 plan used to provide 8GB Asia roaming but have since removed it. CZl 5G S$6.7 plan has no roaming.

Your friend is your friend though.

Just go up to 5G plan for 1 month and try it out.
If you find it useless, then drop back down to 4g

I just sign up for a new 5G SIM card. When comparison with my SingTel 5G, it’s much more better in term of speed and coverage over at my area. Intend to transfer my M1 Maxx line to Eight 5G for my upcoming trip to China which have more roaming data.
pay much less also rite?? win-win for u..

I downgraded my plan from 5g to 4g $8. It shows 5g but it's NSA and the speeds are similar with 4g speeds so I guess the 5g status is just for show lol.

I just checked mine again. Getting around 800Mbps on SA. Interesting...

Enjoy your S$8 eight 5G plan while it works.

Looks like eight backend really got some bugs that some users can still get 5G after downgrading from a 5G plan to a 4G plan.

Anyone on the 4g plan? I have been getting average 10mbps and 50-70ms ping

That is kind of normal in quite some locations, especially during peak hours. It can be lower speed and higher ping at other locations.

But you should get better speed at some other locations.

My top speed for eight 4G is above 300 Mbps, but that is only one time. Typically it would be lower than 100 Mbps. Using Poco X7 Pro.

My best 4G speedtest results, using Poco X6 Pro and Poco X7 Pro.

Eight 4G beats my earlier 4G Speed Records
