12.9v means battery is still healthy

one possibility is current leakage, that can cause a healthy batt to go flat...

Main culprit is usually the dash camera. For my case, the 3rd party contractor from my PI that wired the dash camera wrongly inside the dashboard. This caused my battery to die within 1 year.

After that I changed my dash camera and my freelance installer spotted the wiring error. With the correct wiring, I have not encountered this battery leak issue (yet).

Usually alternator uplorry will have check battery light

Ok an update. I brought my multimeter to check battery health. It was 12.99volts, this was taken with engine off. So I suppose battery no issue.

I did read somewhere that the key need to be pushed all the way in then start the engine. Guess I didn’t do that so engine couldn’t start. But today morning I did that and engine started.

Maybe need to monitor again.
My old ride once weak crank but battery healthy. Then sometimes engine will die during idle. End up is crankshaft sensor uplorry.

Subsequently my dashcam I always use those powerbank instead of tap from battery.

Tried to start my car engine today morning but when starting, can see the dashboard lights coming up but no cranking. However I can hear click sound only.

So this means my starter motor dead or could it be other issues?

Anyway if it’s the starter motor, any idea how much it can cost? Towing to work shop?

Ride is a Suzuki Swift.
What age is your Swift? Start with using a portable jumpstarter. If it doesnt crank, next step is to try new battery. If still cannot, then it is either starter(unlikely) or alternator(even more unlikely).

Batt, starter, alternator these three are common failure for high mileage car.

I think it must be the starter motor.

Alternator can buy recon one to save some money. Changed before ard $500 ish. Ya. It's expensive.

Usually alternator will have battery warning light

Alternator failure can be detected easily with an OBD gauge. Would recommend drivers to get one and monitor, once there's a voltage drop under 13v.. probably it's time to change.
