Hi Bro,

Over filled is quite acceptable. (Just travel slower when you drive up/down slope)
As mechanics believe is OK as the level will drop upon drive.

Have you check the level when the engine is hot / after a drive ?

The level was 0.5cm above the line when I drove to the workshop

If you overfill engine oil and had seen foaming on your dipstick, you will unlikely want to overfill again.

Anyway, overfilling of engine oil reduces engine performance a tad bit.

The removal of excess engine oil is a hassle. If I don't want to do it, I may say it is ok to overfill. :D

There is antifoaming agent as one of the additives inside the engine oil.
Fully syn use for 10k.
Semi syn or mineral engine oil use for 5k for normal use.

Have does not mean eliminate especially when the issue is created by overfilling.
Fully synthetic last about 7-8k km for my application.

A bit is OK. Usually I told my mech to fill to half way mark. Reduce some pumping loss.
Usually 5 to 6k km for daily commute and weekly rev to red line.

Whats your application like?

I used to do multiple short trips before engine fully warm up and also driving in high ambient temperature.

Now I do long distance driving before engine fully warm up in cool temperature.

If you willing to spend a bit more, go for Voltronic from Germany, I have tried Motul but Motul lost its performance after 5K but Voltronic still maintains.
