If really so scared just get any oil approved with BMW LL-01 or MB 229.3/229.5.
Mercedes maintains a comprehensive list of approved oils. May be overkill for jap cars though. Seriously, almost any oil meets jap/korean car requirements.
Some oils say they meet bmw/mercedes standards but are not really tested and approved, so do check the list (Amsoil is not officially approved).

Both are not true synthetic, but are highly processed mineral oil that just meets the spec that allows them to call it synthetic oil in some countries, although there are countries e.g. in the EU that prohibit them from calling it synthetic.
