Whats a good hybrid to recommend?

No idea, haven't done any research since I'm still a few years from changing my current ride which is barely one year old

Plenty of EV choices with 200K budget. Tesla is within this range. Peace of mind comparing to other EV.

If you are considering EV, the brand stability is crucial, you don't want to end up with no support if the company go bankrupt. For China EV , buy the few that are more well established like BYD, geely, SAIC.


I am EV owner, all are real feedback.

Never test driven a BYD before. Only recent sat in a BYD seal. Performance and a BYD Sealion.
BYD Sealion dashboard design and finishing is better, no 'China' taste.

From value for money perspective, surface assessment will point to buy it.


BYD cars are tuned for comfort like a typical China car tuned for China market, its handling is subjective, like driving a boat , unsettled , which may cause nausea.

You better go for a test drive to get a feel of it.

Still need to argue with people over charging stations - it will never be enough
U buy byd is like paying 1000x for a toy car, buy tesla also overpriced with poor safety record

Get ICE or Hybrid.

The decision to go full EV still not firm. Singapore is currently relying on natural gas and coal to generate electricity and there is still a shortfall from what I see for whole of sg to go EV. This alone makes it quite questionable liao. I dun see gov making plans to build more power plant I dunno how they gg to achieve 2030.

Generating electricity doesn't pollute? Singapore has fo burn more fuel and the transmission from plant to car isn't efficient yet.

Technically speaking EV in SG create more pollution compared to conventional car.
