I don't think I will ever buy a Tesla. in Singapore EVs are taxed way higher. big policy joke.

EVs after 8 years cater for $10k to change batteries.

Tesla parts not easy to get , accident take long time to get parts in.

Tesla model Y is the world best selling EV , yes tech toy with reliability.

Hybrid car battery is less reliable due to low capacity causing frequent charging over its charge cycle limit. Hybrid with engine+ motor+ generator+ variable gear train have more things to worry to maintain.

Same as you my car has about 1.5 years left. And so I have recently gone for some EV test drives. Definitely go try them out and take your time. Personally very impressed with the rides and tech. Next car will be EV for me.

I posted in another thread before why legacy brands are not able to compete with pure EV platforms like Tesla etc. Legacy brands lack the software edge and tech updates. They still operate in the legacy mindset and slow to innovate. Now the future is software and electronics tech.

Hybrid still the best way to go ahead if you looking for value. The total $/km is only a few cents worse than EV. Also minus the EV premium. Unless you drive high mileage like >20k km for 10 years then EV will pay off.

Need to consider your house and workplace has infrastructure to support your charging.

Are you willing to wait for charging or change your lifestyle to charge as and when you find a charging spot?

That is the headache for me.

The two mscp near my house are perpetually full. Most of time (day or night) I see the charger, all charging station are taken up.
