I am newbie to iphone. Just wondering is there additional cost to use iphone that samsung/android no need? itunes, id... need to pay money?

You won't need to pay extras to use an iPhone but if you're willing to pay, you will get a better experience overall.

I'm paying $1.30+ a month for 50GB of cloud storage. I use iCloud Photo Library to backup all photos and videos from all of my iOS devices. iCloud backup my iPhone and iPad as well. Definitely more convenient.

How about the frame???

For iPhone 8/ 8 Plus, the frame is made of air-craft grade aluminium 7000 series. Only X is using Stainless Steel.

Hold 6S and thinking of the same issue as well. Another thing to note is u need to pay extra for wireless earpiece or the wireless charger. Can don't spend extra also but that means some new features are rather useless for you. Haven decided yet but I know next year on-screen Touch ID is the one I'm looking for.

You can look forward to under-screen Touch ID but highly doubt Apple will put Touch ID back into iPhones under the X series.

Just to take note that the charger for the fast charging does not come in the box. You need to purchase if want fast charging.

I doubt it will beat to any of it's competitors (Quick Charge 3.0 / Dash Charge).

iPhone sucks in this area; perhaps with good reason, being, the capacity of their batteries are lower and that lower amperage gives a higher capacity charge. Hence, you get 'longer' battery life.

50% in 30mins is like 3.45whr for 8 and 5.05whr for 8 plus. Assuming a best case scenario of constant voltage and current, it translate to 6.9w per hour and 10.1w per hour. Typically, a 70% efficiency charge, I would say the USB PD or fast charge Apple is using is at 10w (5V 2A) or 14.5w (14.5v 1A) charging which the 29W USB PD charger supports.

I suppose for the Plus version where it has bigger battery, the fast charging can go up to 14.5V 1A or 14.5whr, so it should still be better than your 5V 1.7A or 8.5whr rate.

iPhones have been charging at 2A since the iPhone 4s days. Use an iPad charger which is a 10W charger (5V, 2A). The charger with the phone is 5W only.

Kind of in the same shoe. Looking to get a brand new iPhone 8 but the 7 is not much worse. Difference is ~200$. Think I will still go for the iPhone 8 in the end. 200$ is not a huge amount and for faster processor its worth it I feel (my iPhone 6 started to show signs of slowing down towards 2nd year of owning it).
