I just came bak from taiwan. To use atms in taiwan the atms require the card to have the overseas withdrawl feature activated. U can do it in sg or ibank or call cust service direct. We called from taiwan and it was activated straight away.

Withdrawed from dbs atm but rate was about 23.3. Didnt try withdrawing from branch as it was weekends and banks were closed. Withdrawing from other banks' atms charge sgd$5 per transaction. Atm withdrawals still limit to the sgd$2000 limit per day, unless u changed the limit. Btw, we also withdrawed from one of the other banks' atm and per transaction limit was 2000ntd. (dbs atm didnt have this prob) So little! We withdrawed twice and were charged sgd$5 twice zz. All our withdrawals are from cards and atms with cirrus logo!

Dbs atms in taipei is really inconvenient. There are 3 within walking distance from mrt. Nearest is sun yat sen memorial hall station, within 5mins of walk. Next is zhishan station, 500m away. Nxt is daan station, 600m away. Others all not within walking distance from mrt.

There are virtually no money changers as money exchange is done in banks (closed after 5.30 and weekends). Airport rates are around 23.4+, bad also if compared to exchanging in sg. Big department stores offer money exchange but rate sucks. We were at sogo and rate was 22.27. Please bring enough ntd! Hope this helps!

Can know the name of the money changer?
The money changer offering the best rate varies from day to day (or even within the same day). Hence, just check out all the money changers on arcade level 2 to find out which is the best when you are there.

SGD rallying today. Hovering at around 24.09 now...hopefully the rates at the money changers will reflect this soon. Going by past standards, it should be around 23.7 to 23.8...
