We can have a meet to test it out.
U guys can bring the EX800ST, while I bring my EX-1000 along.
But it's now on Scorpion cable. Freaking shiok, may I add.

I'm actually having plans to convert my spare RK-EX800 cables to Toxic cables, most likely also switching to Scorpion cause I feel that the midrange could do with somemore refinement/body weight and I want better bass extension cause will be keeping RK-EX1000 which is alrdy quite gd with treble extension/transparency. EX800st by default is alrdy considered quite lean-sounding in overall sig next to my CK100Pro/PF IX, so I feel that it could definitely benefit from some nice copper cables.

Yup sure, will let u know when im keen to audition those Scorpion cables with my EX800st. Thks for the heads-up!

Rubick korkor ish contemplating to hoot HM901?!?! Wah his pocket rly ish bottomless, thks for the nice insider info. Got more stuffs to suan him liao next time.
=:p=:p
A few of us auditioned HM901 last nite...thou Rubick was not there we manage to poison him gao gao... :s13:

Wah u gotta be kidding me, EX800st with sibiliance? Alot of user impressions/reviews on Head-fi all shared and commented the treble is very tamed liao lehs, and it is definitely not offensive/bright to my ears at all, not to even mention wif sibilance symptoms somemore cause there is certainly none for my pair.

And yr cable somemore is still currently RK-EX800 only lehs, if thats the case better dunch switch to RK-EX1000 liaos.
:eek::eek:

I think u might be mistaking high resolution for sibilance instead, are u getting sibilance via those mainstream pop songs or those well-recorded CDs u personally think? I can def share with u like the MDR-CD900st headphones, EX800st is definitely not forgiving to lousy mainstream recordings so the sibilance issue might be stemming due to this reason too.
Yes...EX800st is nice to most music and I like it a lot...but it gives a funny presentation to certain frequencies and create sibilance sound...
All my music are CD ISO format...both my portable and desktop rig are giving the same problem...
The best example is Star Wars Main Title...from 10th to 16th sec I can hear the tubular bells from background that sounds like a jet engine humming...it's super irritating and ear piercing... :(
I'll give it another 400hrs burn in time and see how it goes... :o

Nvm, I have faith in Joe u ish elite of the elites one I know, cfm ish got plenty of reserves somewhere de cause u are Magician Guan. Rem hoot those Harbeths liao rem to treat us jiak buffet lehs, then hopefully I can pop over and let u audition my PF IX's as well.

Got time meet up next time personally with u, I also sincerely wish to ask u some questions/pointers abt horn speaker setups as well, cause u seem quite well-experienced in terms of speakers while im still considered relatively new in this area of interest.
:o

U flatter me. Elite my kar chng.
I only got 1 pair of Miracle and 1 DX100.
Anything up lorry, I got no backup.
In fact, I have to depend on the unnamed generosity of some bros here for backup IEM when I'm gonna RMA my Miracle for channel imbalance.

Speakers I not familiar with horns.
But Live Acoustic Audio at Chinatown DIYs speakers using Forstex tweeter and a full range driver.
I've heard their setups. Very impressive.

You might want to try pavane kt88t mkii, just switch to these tubes and they are really quite amazing. I also have a quad matched gold lion reissue which i'm quite reluctant to use. Maybe you might want to invest in a quad matched EAT KT88? :s22:

Tried the Psvane 12AU7s. Not impressed after I switch in the Black Glass.
The Shuguang Black Treasures look quite intriguing to me.
But not cheap at $350 for a matched quad. Gold Lions Reissues r much friendlier to wallet at $250 for matched quad.

I still maintain that 333 will be a better suit for u than Parterre.
Cannot quite get the PRAT, clarity and staging outta my head.

Though the 333 is not quite my signature.
That would be C435 and TG334 as complement.

No, no more side-grading for me now. I alrdy done finished my meditating chants liao, don't bother converting me now no use liaos.
;)

Get that Parterre, then concentrate hoot my ATH desktop amp and remaining ATH stuffs. End of story, full-stop. Horn speakers setup is a eventually thing which I will continue on this quest journey when my bullets have their reload supplies.

Maybe it's my problem...as I asked weng to try the same song with his EX1000 and he couldn't hear the jet engine sound... :o

I will get back to u regarding this via PM msg again at a later date. I do have those Star Wars OSTs by John Williams but it was nv ripped to my HDD at all, im more into modern film scores and jdrama soundtracks now. Lemme dig out my CDs and test it with my EX800st when im free, and I will feedbackto you again.

Anyway I can't rem whether initially the EX800st got sibilance issues anot before i hit 300hrs, but if I recall correctly during my earlier burn-in periods I did perceived a slightly lack of bass body/brighter treble, but I can't say the treble lvls are bright till out of my tolerance lvls, cause u have to rem in my earlier days I came from using Grados/ATH gears actually. (ears sorta burnt in liao from past listening experiences)

I think once you hit longer hrs, the overall bass body might come out more and perhaps yr recordings won't get so affected by sibilance issues anymore. Anyway just asking what source u were using to playback yr music files on with yr EX800st? Any possibilities your source is quite analytical in the first?

Thanks bro... :)
My portable rig is Sony F series + Vorzuge Pure...desktop rig is Zdac + WA6...
But ya...I think you won't hear any sibilance cos your tolerance level towards treble confirm is much more higher than me...base on the gears you are having... :s13:

This sat I'll let you know again, meanwhile I'm trying to get joe to come along too because he's curious about the SP pairing with the 333. If he's coming along you can straight ask him bout the toxins he's representing.

@Haonan, you are welcome to join too if you wish :D

Just let me know earlier.

5) cannot correlate with haonan anyway bcos he loves ck100pro

tried with k3003. machiam like dx100 (vague impression since i dun have one) on steroids. detail overload with overpowering energy. change to balanced card, i'm lagi deader than dead. imagine 300 all the arrows fly towards you. :s13:

guess i may be the only one who didn't like it, well at least with the akg. probably would do better with other iems and/or other ears. :D

but... yes i'm using mp3. pls bash me now. :s13:

hardware wise, also a brick. retro look. looks like old camera lol. volume control roller is stiff, not very ergo. volume stepping is not fine. this notch too soft. 1 notch up too loud. non-touchscreen. everything by scroll wheel which is also a tad stiff and i find it also abit not ergo. software abit sluggish/lag.
