frustrating westone rma

Normally if you want to claim warranty yourself, westone will give you RMA # (Return Material Authorization). So, I am pretty sure jaben also got RMA number. Just ask it from them. and use that no. to identify ur unit.

screwed la. lol that time i rma my westone 1 with jaben. took 1 1\2 mths to come back to me

i rma my w3 direct with westone took 1 1\2 weeks.

im not saying jaben is bad....i like uncle wilson alot, just not his lackeys.

Hello there!

about a week ago, i had a little accident with the Westone 2s..

i was about to wear it and listen to my music when my sister suddenly swung her hands and then my Westone 2s fell and hit the ground
after hitting the ground, i scolded my sister a little and then continued to put on the W2s and enjoy my music.
but i noticed a change in sound. the bass seems to flutter.. as in when the bass is heavy, it flutters when its not supposed to.

so i didn't trust my ears and went down to Stereo to ask them to help me test it out.
Suprisingly, they said that the Bass driver is worn out.. i only got it for 2 months!!

i was kind off dissapointed as i paid so much for these babies and i didn't expect them to die after one small minor accident..
the best part is, the people at Stereo told me to go down to the Service center which is located at WOODLANDS!!
and i don't even live near there! i wasted the warranty just for this small little incident.. was actually hoping to use the warranty when the cables or the driver completely dies..

has anyone ever experienced this?

Its either Jaben and Stereo. If you buy from Jaben, it shows that you didnt do your research well.

anyway if your set is bought locally and you have a proof of purchase from jaben. you should be able to head down to SKM ( local agent and distributor for Westone products ) for exchange or repair.

it shouldn't take that long given that Westone has a long history of excellent customer service for their products. it's all about the people who does it for you here in Singapore.

Unless your Westone are not local sets... then bo bian have to wait for jaben to RMA your set from the US side i believe

i used to experience a super long of approx 3 mths rma frm jaben for my um2 which one of de low/mid driver for one side died after 2 wks of purchase. terrible waitin time man.

cant stand my replacement (apple earphones)

i was actually considering buying um3x this year but im not too sure about the rma

if i do buy, get it from stereo instead?

you've waited for 3 months for your RMA from jaben. what makes you think they'll be able to provide you with better service..

ok anyway, if you want to get the um3x, head down to stereo and get it from them straight. they're friendlier and will offer you better service.

my brother um1 spoilt after 1 year of usage.

send it in early last jan or so, was told that it will be back after cny which is 1.5months or so but i only got it back last dec, called them up every 2 months and the same reply, 'its not yet back, we cant find it and we will call you back' make my way down last month and complained, they still cant find it and give me a brand new set.. then i ask about warranty, they say my warranty is over, yes my warranty is over due to the super long rma the people at jaben give. they then reluctanly give me 1 more month of warranty.

RMA throught Jaben is a long and painful process. In fact, there are some bad reviews from Jaben regaridng their RMA process.

You should just email Westone directly.
I emailed them to ask about my UM1 and they sent me a RMA number for me to ship to them direct.
If i'm not wrong, Westone is fast in repairing, the bottleneck is always Jaben.

My first pair of westone 3's nozzle broke in 2009 Dec. I sent it back to the states ready to pay for the repair but they just sent me a new unopened box of w3 foc. Cost me only S$5 plus to sent it via registered mail (enclosed the earphones in the soft case and bought a padded envelope to send this in.)Took only 3 weeks from sending till I received the new box sent via fedex by westone.

Last month (Dec 2010), this replacement lost sound in the left earphone and my 2 years warranty had already expired by one month. Again, I asked to send back to repair and they again sent me back a new set foc saying my warranty just expired so its okay. Again took 3 weeks and mostly time taken was from sending via air mail from Singapore to Westone. They sent the new box via fedex taking 3 days to reach me.

This is what I call top notch service. Lesson learnt is to make sure you register online on their website for your 2 year warranty (whether bought locally or overseas) and when you need to claim warranty, you won't even need to provide a receipt. Just send back the faulty earphone to them after getting a RMA number from them.

Westone's service is really top notch! Having dealt with them twice, I can confidently say that any long delays in claiming warranty is not the fault of Westone.

but the damage done to my IEMs are not covered under warranty.. the nozzle broke off
