Hi people, a fujitsu lifebook A6020 user here. Quite an old laptop model liao, not sure if any of u guys are still using that.

Anyway I'm thinking of upgrading to 4GB. (Free upgrade to 2GB RAM when I bought it one of the CE shows)

Did a brief check for A6020 specs and found:

Memory: 1GB DDR2 667MHz
Maximum Memory Supported: 4GB DDR2 667MHz, Dual Channel
Running on Intel® 945GM Express Chipset

My question is will my laptop be able to support the full 4GB RAM? or just a cap to some 3.**++ RAM like some of the others are experiencing?

Any idea how much it costs for a 4GB DDR 667MHz?
I have 2 ram slots. Currently is 1GB - 1GB.
If my A6020 supports to a max of 3GB then I'll do a 1GB-2GB combi, else 2GB-2GB

Thank you!

You can do a 2 X 2GB RAM upgrade instead, however the cost will damn high. Do you really need 4GB of RAM?

2 GB RAm cost abt $100+

Id you system support upto 3GB, when you install with total 4GB with 2 slots. It only detecting 3G for max, sometime might be hangup due to corresporting data command error.

hope it help.

Glue it back or go back to the service center.

Okay, so its either 3GB or Im sticking to my current 2GB ram.

To the more experienced guys out there, will there be noticeable boost of computing speed (if any) with an increment of 1GB RAM? I'm using Vista Business.

Because Illustrator and Photoshop were hanging on me. Rohan quits on me sometimes too >_<

If i'm not wrong, my A6020 runs on Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset, integrated with Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 ...

I've checked and it says: up to 224 MB maximum video memory.

That's Intel Graphic? Okay. Get an upgrade then.
I suggest you to upgrade to 4gb as another 1gb is for fast-using and the last gb is for hardware sharing use. which will definitely boost your computer speed.

My opinion.

Hmm okay then ty BBear. I'll be saving up for my 2GB increment. What I'm afraid of is the system's unstability like one of the forumer's said.

Whoa my 1.83GHz + 2GB laptop was around at $2,150 when i bought it at one of the CE Shows .... now 2.1GHz + 4GB at $1488 .. *cries*
