For my knowledge singapore service center only does 1st level of test and replace, 2nd level of testing and repair (which is shouldering and so on) is not done here, not like service center in India, they do the repair of Motherboard in the service center.

Think they are not taking ownership, nothing much was being done. They even gave a very standard reply that Funan Fujitsu Customer Service is following up and since then no answer from them. The manager there is supposed to give me a trade-in quotation but no answer.

Well, if you think it is not worthwhile to make a trip down, then don't. Eventually the service center may not care unless you make a big fuss. If you know how to. :D
Could you be kind to tell me how to handle this? It can't be harddisk, bluetooth and optical drive faulty at same time. and they claim that they have replaced the wireless card out of goodwill since i encountered connectivity issue. I also highlighted that when i listen to radio 933 via internet using the Fujitsu laptop, there is a drop in the transmission which they said that it is buffering issue. I don't agree as i use 2 desktops from different office and another laptop tested on the same channel and location, but i don't have the drop in the radio transmission. Can u understanding that the drop can be as bad as at least 3-4 times within a song. How long is the song? Guess mostly probably topside is 4mins+. Can someone advise on the possibility?

I would assume it as the slight leakage in the component in your laptop. i would suggest that you really bring it down and logged it as a complain and demand for a clear check. Because for leakage, how can you check without opening and see?

Well, for the buffering of music on yes933, it may be the signal that you get from Wireless. Why not try using ethernet and see if it yearn the same result? Then you will be narrow down to which component that is playing prank. :D

flip your unit upside down, the harddish is under your floppy disk drive, floopu disk drive is just beside your battery, there is 2 screws on the floopy disk drive, unscrew them, take out your floopy drive and you will see your hard disk under it. :D

the drop in the transmission when using wireless is quite predictable as anything that is denser than air will absorb the wireless signal thus causing the signal to break. Sometimes software in the system will also play a part in the breaking of signals, eg. if you are downloading files on the same laptop, the signal will tend to break. Lastly, the wireless router is shared by many and the output of the signal to your side might be weaker thus resulting in your signal breakage.

sometimes the server side which means the radio broadcasting stations might be issue too. not saying they are lousy but think of it, you are not the only one tuning in to them. i have tried tuning in to 98.7fm and get frequent disconnection now and then. i wasn't using laptop wireless, i was using my home desktop configured almost to the best at that pt of time and connected via a LAN cable.

FYI, LAN connections are more stable than wireless unless your wired cable spoilt.

hihi, wat kind of leakage are you referring to?
to add on to our knowledge, if leakage is referred to wireless signals, even if you complain, i believe changing 2 or 3 wireless card will not solve the issue as it might not be due to the card, surroundings of the laptop plays a part in the absorbing of the signal. eg. if you are in a sound-proof room and your router is outside of it, you might get low or no signal as the room is designed to absorb waves, thus knowing it as soundproof. :D

my 2cents worth.
pls do update me if i'm wrong so that i can learn from my mistakes. :s12:=:p

All Notebook Svc Centre in Singapore do not practice component level repair. I have own a few Fujitsu Lifebook and so far I am very very satisified with their products, design and service level. Every SvcCentre will have spares issue and it's not uncommon for spares lead time to be around 1-2months.

Even other brands do have the same problem, if not worst. LOL. FYI I have a friend who is in Ngee Ann Poly and told me they need to wait nearly 5-6 months for a battery replacement!

:eek: thats very long to get something for replacement, I think they might have forgotten abt it actually in the first place haha :D

i tink smt company wan to save money on shipping so they wait until a certain amount then they ship in..

but come to tink of it, 5-6 month is too long.. smt if too long u hav to make "noise" to them until they get their butt working..

Somehow I think if it really take so long, it must be some problem with the "human resources". I do not believe that they do not shipped in their own products each month. Maybe at least once per month shipment will come in. :D

My fujitsu s7111 laptop now the spring sound is getting worse,its from one of the hinge,i open close can hear spring sound,i did send it for service before,they say its okay de compared to others,its smooth and if we put oil,it may just snap

Ask them what do they mean by it is okay compared to the others?

I ever had hinge problem with my S2110, but once they tighten for me. Even though it seems lose but the more I use it, the more durable it seems. :)

to me spring sound from the hinge is a fault, I will get them to replace them :D

wat they meant by okay compared to other is tat for s7111 compared to other models,its actually not too tight or loose and quite smooth when opening or closing..anyway,this laptop about 8 months le

... If the following hardware parts is faulty, definetly they will change it for you under the warranty status.. As for your wireless issue, you cannot compare just by having 2 different desktops + 1 different lappy .. Different Hardware give different results and even on the software side too. Instead of making such a useless fuss, you should spend time trying to install fresh new OS, update your windows and do another test.

Just take a cloth, make it slightly wet and clean the surface of the keyboard will do. Dont pour water into the keyboard or dripping wet cloth which might cause unecessary trouble for you! ;)

I agree that 5-6mths waiting for certain of parts is no go.. Ought to make them to do something about it.. Get a loan unit or loan parts if really a serious problem.
